Dual Band IR Repeater
Control up to four audio/video components located behind closed doors or walls in an entertainment cabinet or closet using this Dual Band IR Repeater from Monoprice!
This IR repeater lets you store your equipment out of sight, yet still operate it with its infrared remote control. The repeater supports dual band IR signals with frequencies between 30-60KHz. The kit includes an IR receiver with a 3 foot cord, which you need to place so that you can point your remote control at it.
The receiver then transmits the signal to the repeater, which sends it out to all four transmitter bulbs, which should be placed over the IR "eye" on each of your components. The kit comes with two transmitter cables, each with two IR transmitter bulbs and 6 foot cord.
The box measures a scant 3.1" x 2.1" x 0.9" and has mounting holes so it can be attached to a wall or inside a cabinet. The repeater is powered by the included AC adapter (5 VDC, 0.5A) and can be expanded by adding one more receiver and three more transmitter cables.
Note that the cables use standard 3.5mm mono and stereo plugs, so they can be lengthened by using a 3.5mm audio extension cable.

I had surfed the comments but did not see any solution for my specific device. It would be nice to be able to search comments by keyword, or have all of the comments display on a single page so we could search with the browser's tools for specific devices.
PROS: Works well for most devices. Mostly easy to install
CONS: Needed to modify for a specific device.
PROS: The IR works with every new IR device on the market. Including New sony products and Time Warner and Comcast cable. I've used it on Dish Network (the receiver must be set to IR Channel 1)
CONS: The IR Emitters are flimsy and break easy. So if the unit responses funny. Try a different emitter.
You best results are about 15' or so from the receiver or the remote wont work well. If its an older Plasma maybe 12'. No IR indicator or IR receiver. Only on the distro block.
This IR blaster works great. I put two eyes about 3" from where the Vizio receives signals and now I don't have any issues with turning the TV on or volume control. The extra boost provided by this little device makes it reliable every time. I don't have to be so particular about my aim with the remote anymore. The construction of the transmitter is a little cheap, but it doesn't matter. It does what it needs to do and does it very well, and I'll never see the construction of the device again anyway since its hidden away behind a sound bar.
PROS: Great sensitivity, small and effective
CONS: Cheap construction but it doesn't matter it gets the job done.
PROS: Works perfectly!
Only downside is that the included IR transmitters are in 2 pairs, I would prefer each to be separate so that the transmitter cabling isn't connected between two devices. Granted, this does enable you to repeat double the of devices but I doubt many people would need to repeat more than 4 signals.
Easy to set up
CONS: Pairs of transmitter wires means two devices share a cable
PROS: it works
PROS: Simple and effective
Installed in few minutes.
Excellent reception and even if transmitter is placed approximately, works well.
PROS: Ease of use
