    Pros: Non

    Cons: Did not work

I purchased 2 IR extender cables in order to hide cable boxes. Neither cable was able to transmit the signal from the remote to the box. I will try to return these items.

    Pros: Easy to install.

    Cons: None

Works perfectly. If your cable box has an input for IR, then your in business. Hide the box in a closet, Velcro the receiver to the TV (Velcro not included)

It was surprisingly difficult to find an IR extender that didn't require an in-line power source. I had purchased one from a Monoprice competitor only to find that it didn't work with a HDMI switch I am using in a office conference room environment. This IR extender saved the day and works, as advertised, without any +12V in-line power required.

My receiver, Yamaha RX-V677, is out of sight when using the remote. I was looking for an extender to plug into the IR in port at the back. Unfortunately, I could not get help from Yamaha regarding specs for the IR in port on the receiver. All I got was a guy who could read the owners manual. So I took a chance and bought this not knowing if it would work and it didn't.
