Increase your productivity with your Apple iPad 2, New iPad (aka iPad 3), or iPad With Retina Display (aka iPad 4) with this Keyboard Folio from Monoprice!

While the virtual keyboard on tablets is good enough for entering a small amount of text or data, it just cannot match the typing speed and sheer quantity of work you can get done with a physical keyboard. This folio case turns your iPad into a laptop computer workstation.

The folio features a stand function, which holds your iPad in a position similar to that of a laptop computer screen. The built-in Bluetooth® keyboard uses the industry leading Broadcom 20730 Bluetooth chipset. When paired with the iPad it allows you to type and enter data with greater ease and speed!

The keyboard uses standard "dome" contacts, but with scissor-type mechanical keys. The keys require an actuation force of about 60 grams, plus or minus 10 grams, and have an expected life cycle of more than 10 million keypresses.

The keyboard has its own internal, rechargeable battery, so it won't reduce the battery life of your iPad. The lithium-ion battery will provide up to 120 hours of continuous operation and up to 300 days of standby time. The battery has a charge cycle lifetime of 300 charges and takes about 3-4 hours for a full charge.

    iPad not included!

    Folio/Keyboard for IPAD
This folio/keyboard fit my IPAD Retina display perfectly. Stand function provides 2 positions, which cover most situations. Not so great on apps that require vertical viewing. Keyboard layout is just fine, and the movement of the keys provides very good tactile feedback. If the keyboard is turned off, the IPAD ignores it, so if it's on and you want to use the touchscreen keyboard, turn it off! Overall very satisfied.

PROS: Great value for the price.

    Fits the IPAD perfectly.

    Good tactile feedback on keys

    Easy to pair

CONS: A little sloppy when closed - use the elastic band to secure.

    Works great!
I like this keyboard because it is bluetooth it works with multiple devices so I can use it with an iPad, a smartphone or whatever. It is pretty durable too -I haven't broken it yet.

PROS: Works with different types of devices and OS's. Mechanical keyboard is precise. Terrific battery life.

CONS: Could be a bit smaller

    Great Battery life, poor design
The keyboard is excellent but I would look to correction of the mounting of the screen viewing angle before I could recommend purchase of this keyboard.

PROS: I have had the keyboard for a few weeks and have not had to recharge since the initial one. The Bluetooth syncing was flawless. Every start up is flawless. The functioning of the keyboard is first rate.

CONS: The design of the mounting for viewing the screen is poorly conceived. Two very small teeth about 1/2" in from the sides of the bottom of the screen are supposed to engage into to equally small slots in the case. There are two viewing angles and neither holds the screen securely. The slightest jolt sends the screen flying. Where the small teeth impact on the keyboard after slipping, the keys that are struck are loosened. The right shift key is loose and the capslock key has come off completely. Both of these keys are along the path of the mounting teeth when the mounting position slips. The full weight of the iPad bears down on individual keys with each very frequent slip. I read before my purchase about keys falling off. Now I know why. The next version of this keyboard needs to address this serious design flaw in the mounting/viewing of the screen.

My 11 year old son bought this for his Mom and she loves it. Actually, we all love it. The keyboard works great and was very easy to pair via bluetooth. The keyboard also funtions as a very nice holder and stand...3 in 1 if you ask me. Great deal and very happy with it.

PROS: Great ipad holder. keyboard is awesome. Stand works great.

    CONS: None

    Hmmmm
Overall, I like the design but the quality was poor and although customer service was easy to send back and replace - I was stuck for the return shipping and packing.

PROS: Well designed with the magnet shut off and slim profile. I liked using this folio and keyboard.

CONS: Keys began falling off within a couple of weeks of using it. I contacted Monoprice and they agreed to replace item. The only problem was it cost me $15 to return this product in packaging and shipping costs.

    Very cost-effective Folio
This folio was about half the price of many of the inexpensive models we looked at, yet it works great for my daughters graduate school work. I'd highly recommend it.

PROS: Inexpensive and works great - protects the iPad and works fine for graduate study work

CONS: Just a little bit heavy to be perfect

    Almost got it!
Great price point. syncs with no effort and works fantastic. There are 2 little tabs on the side that are suppose to line up with 2 little holes on the keyboard side. They are very poorly made and never line up. The second you think you got it, the ipad falls on itself. I wish there were 2 changes. 1. A surefire way to hold it in position. 2. when the keyboard is not needed there is no way to secure it to the backside of ipad.

    PROS: Price, functionality

CONS: Does not line up with holes. Clumsy

If you need a keyboard for your iPad to be used as a portable computer, give it a try.. I would note that when the iPad is propped up, its not secured in the slots designed to hold the iPad up at angle, meaning that if your using this on an unstable surface such as your lap, the iPad will fall over frequently, but you should be fine if using it on a hard flat surface.

PROS: It works the way its supposed to, battery seems to last awhile.

CONS: When the case is close with the iPad in it, its kinda thick, but thats just the nature of the beast with a product like this..My only real complaint about the product is that there is 2 spots designed for the iPad to be propped up with providing only 2 viewing angles, steep and really steep. I wish there was another viewing angle that was not so steep..

    Keyboard and Cover
Everyone who tries it, wants it.

    PROS: A real key stroke.

CONS: Forgetting to turn it on or off.

    Great keyboard
All in all a nice deal for the money.

PROS: The separate power supply is a big plus so it doesn't sap the iPad battery. Makes typing anything more convenient than the virtual keyboard, especially using the arrow keys to move around the document. Entering passwords with a mix of letters, numbers, and caps is much faster.

CONS: The spacebar is a problem. On mine, you have to hit it right in the center and harder than the other keys in order to get a space. Also, the delete key only functions as a backspace key on mine. Not major problems, but keep from getting a 10. (In writing this review, I had to go back and add a space where the spacebar didn't at least a dozen times.)
