UV Resistant 6-1/2 Inches 2-Way Marine Speaker (Pair)

You'll be rocking the boat with these marine speakers from Monoprice!

These speakers are designed for use in marine and other outdoor applications. They are constructed with a polypropylene/mica speaker woofer cone and PEI tweeter, which are resistant to both water and ultraviolet rays, making them ideally suited to installation on the outside of a boat, by a pool, or just about anywhere outdoors.

The speaker cone has a rubber edge for both flexibility and water resistance. There is also a rubber seal inside the mounting holes, which helps keep the back of the speakers dry. They have thick, impact-resistant, white plastic face plate, which will withstand bumps and scrapes without breaking or scratching.

This model features a 6 1/2" woofer cone and a 13mm PEI dome tweeter. It has an impedance of 4 ohms and is suited for use with amplifiers rated for 80 watts per channel.

    Pros: Sounds great
    Great bang for your buck
    looks good

Cons: Speaker grilles yellow from UV exposure

Put two of these in my 17" Runabout connected to a Sony head unit. They sounds very clear at pretty much any volume. A friend of mine heard them and put a pair in his 23' center console Mako. He was blown away by the Bass response, especially in such an open craft. The only reason they didn't get a 5 star rating was that after a year the speaker grilles had yellowed from the sunlight.

    Another great Monoprice product

Pros: Nice look, well sealed, sound unreal, cheap price but not cheap quality or sound!

Cons: Nothing major, mounting hardware would be nice

I've found myself looking on Monoprice now before I buy any type of electronics to see if they offer it. Theses speakers are great! Sound unreal, was going to add a sub to combo with these and the 4 6x9s bought with them, but they sound so great I'm not even going to bother. Buddy has JL audios that are 5 times the price, and these sound better than those! Super satisfied as usual with another Monoprice product. Now if only we can get Monoprice to keep creating and offering more products!

    Replacement Speakers For Boat

Pros: To begin with let me say that I haven't had a chance to run the speakers for a long period to discern the sound quality at peak levels. That being said, speakers showed up real quick! I beleive within a day! My boat's 4 speakers were crapped out with only one working. I wasn't sure if it was wiring related or the speakers, but for the price of these speakers I couldn't go wrong. Plus, the speakers in the boat were probably original or close to it and that would make them 20 years old. Needless to say I plugged them in and everything worked great. Sound was loud, clear, and deep. But, as I said, they haven't been used out on the water for an entire day, and competing against the sound of the motor and the wind.

Cons: None that I can think of. For the price you can't go wrong. EVEN if they don't sound great at peak levels, the stereo has no amp so that would probably help the sound. Head units can't push speakers well so I have no big illusions.

Well worth the money to purchase. I gave it an 8 only because I haven't run them long enough, but that's not a knock on the speakers, their overall sound, or the build quality.

    Absolutely Amazing

Pros: Amazing sound and price. Surprising amount of bass.

    Cons: None.

I recently needed to replace the factory speakers in my boat (2005 Yamaha AR230). I have never really been satisfied with the stock speakers so we didn't use the sound system much on the lake. I've thought about installing an expensive systems for some time, but in the end I just decided that we would stick with the stock JVC head unit and add a Bluetooth dongle to get some modern connectivity. In the end I just changed wanted to cheaply change the worn speakers to have the system functional. I was not expecting what I heard on the lake today...these got very loud and had absolutely no distortion from the stock head unit...no matter how loud I drove them. The bass response was enough to make the fiberglass shake and my wife actually had to ask me to turn it down for the first time. :-) If you are looking at these as a factory replacement, I do not believe you will be disappointed. Once in awhile you get something for a good price and it far exceeds your expectations...Monoprice seems to make a habit of making goods that fit this category. This is one good deal!
