    Monoprice touch screens
We've got 18 of these touch screens being used as check in kiosks. We are very happy with them. In the two years we've used monoprice touch screens we've had two hardware failures. One in warranty and one out, however given the low cost, we keep a spare on hand. You can buy 3 of these for what you'd pay for a different brand touch screen.
Listing consistency as a con because we've had the occasional unit that displays colors differently in default mode, no big deal, we just adjust it to match the others, and if it was being used alone we'd hardly notice.

    PROS: Price, aesthetics, functionality, durability

    CONS: Reliability, consistency

Wonderful product. Thanks again, Monoprice. This is a great deal.

PROS: Compact, Bright, Works Well! This works as well as any I have seen. I have a 10 year old Elo Touch Master, and the MONOPRICE LCD Touch Screen is vastly superior. I can not believe what a great value this is.

CONS: Windows 7 didn't recognize the monitor. Thanks to another post, I was able to download the driver. The mini CD didn't fit my computer as it would have fallen through.

    Great monitor!
Okay, this thing is just fantastic. A more detailed look at it shows that it is a 4-wire technology. I don't personally know what that means, but if you are wondering and want to look it up now you can.

This monitor comes in a nice box and is well packed. The stand is great! It is a dual-pivot stand with one pivot point at the back of the stand and the other pivot point on the monitor with about a 7 inch bracket between. This allows for a nearly flat operation of the monitor or a "normal use" screen position, and nearly every position in-between.

The drivers come on a mini-CD, so if you have a recent computer with a slot-load drive beware and DO NOT PUT IT IN. Do yourself a favor and go download the latest driver. The one we got had drivers from 2008 (uhh?) and online they had a newer driver from 2009. I don't know if I am allowed to post external links, but just google for "eeti egalax touch homepage" and you will find it. We are a Mac shop so I can only test it on a Mac but it works fantastically on the Mac. I would say the software is "top notch" not so much because it is perfect but because they spent time to make it compatible with everything. They have drivers for: Mac OS 9, Mac OS X (ppc), Mac OS X (Intel), Linux, QNX, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows 9X, Windows ME, Windows NT4, Windows 2000/XP, Windows CE 6, Windows Embedded, and DOS. Yes, DOS. How in the world you use a touchscreen in DOS I don't know, but the fact they bothered to says a lot.

Calibration out of the box was pretty darn close. There are two modes for calibration, a 4 point mode and a 25 point mode. Don't bother with the 4-point. We accidentally wiped the calibration out (don't click the CLEAR button on the calibration screen unless you have a mouse handy) and tried to calibrate with the 4-point. It works but has a lot of play. The 25-point left us bang-on everywhere we touched.

I really like the fact that the buttons are on the side and pretty much flush. This means you won't accidentally press a button while feeling around for the power button. The only thing we really didn't like is the fact that the cables are hard-wired. You get a VGA cable and a USB cable, both of which are hard-wired into the screen. While usually this isn't a problem, it does mean that if you need to go farther than about 5 feet you will need to buy extensions, you can't just swap out the cables.

Bottom line: Would I buy another? Heck yes. Am I looking forward to buying the 22" version just because I can? Oh yeah. Is it as good quality as a top name-brand touch-screen from a company whose name rhymes with Shmelo? No. Is the extra 3% in quality worth spending 3 times as much? Not in my checkbook!

PROS: Easy to setup, great price, decent software control, Mac compatible

    CONS: Hardwired cables, requires drivers

    Nice Point of Sale screens
Excellent touch screen period, nice brightness and color too, sturdy, recommended

PROS: Nice screen, weighted base for POS, accurate, good driver, a bargain in my opinion after many years of Elo screen purchases, not sure if works with Linux or Mac but it might , just have not tried or looked at driver options

CONS: Driver in box is on mini CD which is problematic and may not be newest version, I recommend downloading the driver - I think it's called galax touch or something similar, manual Ok but not that accurate, use higher calibration (20+ point) setting to get best results

    Mac Compatible
Now works on all Mac computers through the DisplayPort or Thunderbolt port using a Monoprice adaptor so long as you perform all computer updates. Find Mac drivers online here:

PROS: Good quality at a Fantastic price
    Mac OSX Lion support

    CONS: Low contrast ratio

    Can't get drivers for monitor
    See Cons

PROS: Great monitor if you have the drivers!

CONS: After initially installing the monitor it worked fine. After 6 mos. my HD went down and I had to reload everything. I misplaced the materials for the monitor and it will not work without the driver. I have been trying to get the driver from Monoprice both by email and live chat with no satisfaction. The support in this area is not good. I am still trying and waiting!

I bought this monitor from Amazon.com the monitor was missing the USB cable so I figured I can just contact MP to purchase a replacement cable. Boy was I wrong.

"Thank you for contacting us here at Monoprice.com, in regards to your question, unfortunately in order for you to receive a replacement i would have to set up an RMA number for you if you don't have the order number, you will have to go through the website you purchased it from to receive a replacement, try contacting amazon."

"Thank you for contacting us here at Monoprice.com, in regards to your question, Unfortunately we do not carry a stand alone USB to VGA cable that you would need for this product. we are very sorry for the inconvenience."

I didnt really want to waste anymore time with them but I figure I would help someone out there that needs a USB cable. All you need is pretty much a USB Male to Male. You can make this by splicing the USB cables together. USB has 4 wires inside RED, White, Black and Green. Just match up the colors and your all set to go.

or just buy it from amazon. The cable is called "USB A Male to A Male"

All in all if I had to do this all over agian which I do in a few weeks lets just say Monoprice will not be getting another dime from me. I rather pay more and go with a Plannar.

    PROS: Decent Price

    CONS: Poor Support
Unable to Warranty\RMA if not bought directly from Monoprice.com
Drivers are readily available on website. Need to access another website to download them
