This stand case fits around the back of your original iPad, with cutouts along the side for the connectors and controls, with soft silicone at the corners to prevent scratching and to provide additional grip. On the back of the case is an extendable leg, which can be rotated 360 degrees to prop your iPad up in the landscape or portrait orientation. The leg has a soft silicone foot to prevent slipping.
This stand is black with red silicone. A white version is available as PID 8257.

|Worthless as a stand|
|Pros: Decent case protection.|
Cons: The folding stand puts the iPad (in landscape) essentially vertical, and is a hair away from falling over. When seated at a table, it is incapable of providing a useable angle. When in portrait, it does provide slightly more lean-back. If I had a workshop, I'm sure it could be modified and made acceptable - but I don't. This stand is not nearly as versatile as the one I got (from Aidata) for my iPad3, but it was not available for the original iPad. The case itself is, however, decent. At least the price was reasonable, and thus the purchase was not a great loss. But, had I paid full price for this when my iPad1 was new, it would already be in the mail being sent back.
