10x6.25 Inches Graphic Drawing Tablet w/ 8 Hot Key

Unleash your inner artist with this Graphics Tablet from Monoprice!

From the time we first grasped a crayon in our little hands, we have grown used to the use of the pen/pencil form for writing and drawing tasks. So, while a mouse can be used for simple drawing tasks, a graphics tablet with a pen stylus is a more natural and controllable input device.

This graphics tablet has a 10" x 6.25" drawing area in a widescreen 16:10 aspect ratio. It features 8 programmable hot keys on the left side of the tablet and 16 preprogrammed function keys around the edges of the drawing area. It boasts a 4000 LPI resolution, a 200 RPS report rate, and 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity on the pen, allowing you to produce light, wispy strokes, as well as heavy, bold strokes, depending on the pressure used.

The tablet includes device drivers for both Windows and Mac OSX. Bonus software, which provides pen functionality to Windows XP and Vista systems, is also included. Note that the bonus software is not compatible with Windows 7+ or Mac OSX.

The tablet connects to your PC or Mac using a USB 2.0 connection.

    Support Files:

    Great entry level tablet

    Pros: Great for kids!
    Easy to use
    Large enough
    Shortcut buttons

Cons: No viewing screen on the pad (only on really expensive models)

I bought this a while ago for the kids to use with various drawing programs. It was used on Win 7, I haven't tested it out on Win 10 yet. Its easy enough to use and comes with instructions and a small cd I believe. It works great, I've used it with photoshop, MS paint, and GIMP. I am not to fond of the pen holder though as it tips over easily. It does come with different pen tips which is nice if you need to replace them. I like the easy shortcut buttons on the side and top of the pad. It is a good size and takes some getting use to at first, but after the learning curve it's pretty easy. The only negative that i can see is that there is no display screen on the pad to write on so you sometimes lose your place if your not paying attention, but the wacom pads that have the view-able screens are very expensive! Overall I think this is a great investment to anyone who has children who like to draw or is looking for a cheap alternative to a wacom pad for use in any photo or drawing application.

Pros: Easy for my 8 year old to use
great entry level price for a drawing tablet
Lots of shortcut buttons which we do not use yet
Much nicer than using a mouse

Cons: Had to put up a couple more hanging lines on the wall for her to clip her art to!
Going to have to buy color ink more often!

No pen holder attached to tablet

I just built my 8 year old daughter her own computer from some parts I had from previous upgrades and put Win 8.1 on it. She was really getting into the drawing program from the app store using the mouse. That made me think of something like this for Christmas. I was concerned she would have trouble looking at the computer screen while drawing on the tablet, but no trouble at all. She was so excited for this and she uses it almost every day as she can go from logging in to printing her new creation without any help.

After reading reviews about pens like this having their tip wear out, I purchased a pack of extra tips just to have them on hand so she would not be without one in mid-creation.

My only nitpick would be that I would have preferred some sort of pen holder attached to the tablet itself, rather than a separate freestanding pen holder. Maybe there is a reason for this, I have not really taken that close a look at the pen tip.

    Stylus problem...?

    Pros: Buttons on side work

Cons: Whole work area doesn't seem to

I believe this tablet can work, but no matter how much I use test the pressure, the stylus does not work. I've replaced the battery already. Is there something I need to do?

Thank you for your review and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered with the tablet. Just to verify, make sure the battery is making proper contacts on the pen or it will not work properly. If that still doesn't work, we can replace your pen. Please let me know, thank you!

    Win 10 Drivers?

    • Ricster2150,

Pros: Good size, responsive, pretty much all I could ask for.

Cons: None that I can think of once the drivers are all set.

I just sent an email on this same subject, but thought it would be good for future Win10 upgrades or new computer owners. The tablet's fantastic and I'm so glad I went with this over all the money on a Wacom. I use it on Photoshop and Lightroom and not just for retouching but also digital composites.

I did get a new Win10 computer over the holidays and the blue light comes on when I put the pen to the tablet, but the computer doesn't react. Is there a new driver coming or should I use the Win7 drivers?

    Hello Ricster2150,

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately at the moment we do not have updated drivers for windows 10. I would recommend uninstalling the current drivers (Also any other tablet drivers) and installing the most up to date drivers we have available, which would be for windows 8.1. I would recommend installing them in compatibility mode, which can be done by right clicking the installation file and clicking "Troubleshoot Compatibility". I would recommend selecting "Try Recommended Settings" to have windows choose what it feels would be best for the drivers.

The updated drivers (2015.03.26 Ver: 20150204 for Windows 7/8/8.1) can be found here:

    It's Great But..

It's a really nice tablet and at a really nice price but I can't seem to get the pen pressure no matter what I do. The little tablet icon won't appear at all on the system tray nor will the pen pressure work on any art program. I have a Windows 10.1 and I don't know if it's because it's the updated version but I tried everything of deleting and reinstalling the program countless time following the steps that seemed to work for others.
    Please help

    Hello Tipsymoon,

Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues you have encountered. Try typing in "plaunch" into the Windows search bar and open it up if it is there. If it does not open the tablet settings then check the system tray to see if it is shown in there. If it shows up but it does not open then try plugging the tablet into a different USB port.

If that does not work then updating the drivers would be best to try. We do not have drivers specifically for windows 10 but we do have drivers for Windows 8.1. I would recommend trying to use the most up to date Windows 8.1 drivers listed here: http://www.uc-logic.com/index.php?lang=en&action=support&cid=6

It is highly recommended to uninstall previous drivers and also any other tablet drivers for they can interfere with the tablet drivers. Once uninstalled it is best to perform a restart of the computer. Once it has been done and restarted, go ahead and install the drivers "2015.03.26 Ver: 20150204 for Windows 7/8/8.1" from the link above. Be sure that when you are installing the drivers to not have the tablet plugged in. Once the drivers are installed restart the computer once more. Then, it would be okay to plug in the tablet. If it installed you would see the icon in the system tray but if it is not there then try typing in "plaunch" into the windows search bar. I hope this helps!
