    Pros: Excellent value
    Very good home-theater quality
    Well constructed
Extremely easy to install using the provided template

Cons: Hi-freq reproduction comes up a bit short

I purchased a set of these back in April 2013 and have been using them as rear speakers for my home theater. While the sound reproduction is very, very good for watching movies, it leaves a bit more to be desired for surround music especially when listening to high quality string orchestra music. On the other hand, I doubt very much if you can get any better quality for in-wall speakers at, or even double, this price.

Very Impressed - Well Played Monoprice

Pros: Excellent sound quality for in-wall speakers. Great mid-range. Pleasant/clear upper range (without sounding fatiguing). Unreal value.

Cons: Wall mount brackets aren't as nice as some other in-walls I have had.

First - I rarely write reviews. I only write reviews when I really like/dislike something. These, I really like. I would have docked a point for the wall mount brackets, which with anything beyond a small amount of torque, will strip and the screws will spin. That said, after stripping the first 2 screws, I got a sense for the torque required, and they all went it fine thereafter (though not confidence inspiring). Nonetheless, I simply cannot dock a point given the amazing sound quality and incredible value. Seriously. I have owned a ton of speakers in my day. One might call me an audiophile (or technophile). I have my own computer based music studio. I've been around music and musicians my entire life. I have owned everything - From Bose/Energy/MTX to Mackie (Studio Reference Monitors)/Paradigm Studio Series. In fact, I had my Paradigm Studio 20s in my bedroom (where I put these Monoprice speakers in a 5.1 setup). Frankly, I was preparing myself to be seriously disappointed. Well, guess what? I wasn't. In fact, I was very surprised. They sound great. So much so, that I regret the set of on-wall KEFs I bought last week for my living room (due to WAF - Wife Acceptance Factor). Anyway, Monoprice deserves a lot of credit for these. I just hope all of these great reviews don't go to their heads, and they end up jacking the prices (At least not until I get my 5.1 in-wall setup for my gym and my living room - to replace the KEFs).

Pros: Price, ease of installation, sound quality.

    Cons: Spring loaded terminals.

After a lot of research on the Monoprice site, reading reviews and searching other options, I chose four of the 7607 6.5" 3-way for my front and rear speakers for a 5.1 surround system in the living room. I also chose the 4881 5.25" center channel speaker as part of the set up. The sub-woofer was a left over of my entire Polk system (powered sub-woofer). I am driving these with a Denon AVR-1800 unit. I mounted all the speakers in the ceiling it was a bit of work removing a few sections of old lath-and-plaster from the ceiling between ceiling joists, running speaker wire for each location, replacing the ceiling openings with ½" drywall, then cutting out the drywall for the openings. I chose the 7607's because they are 3-way and I listen to music as well as watch movies and because they closer match the width of the 4881, making for a uniform look when the center channel and front left/right speakers were installed. I chose not to paint the faces and grills they look just fine in white contrasted to the ceiling paint in the room. The sound of this set up is excellent. The center channel is placed about 24" from the front wall, centered on the flat screen TV. The frequency range is very good for movies and music. The sub woofer fills in the low frequencies well. My only complaint is the spring loaded terminals on the speakers would prefer to have seen screw terminals for a more secure and reliable connection. These speakers are an outstanding value - the price performance cannot be beat!

Pros: Amazing sound. Quality feel & components. Nice look.

    Cons: Need a subwoofer.

Wowjust installed four of these with a Monoprice center channel for my home theater system. Amazing sound, esp. for the price! In my old home, I installed 6-1/2" Klipsch in-wall speakers that ran $250+ per speaker. This time around, I went with Monoprice and am blown away with the quality of the sound. I'm doing a whole house system and will be putting 8 pairs of these across the house. Of course, you'll need a sub for the lows, but that's to be expected with a 6-1/2 speaker.
