Screen Protective Film w/ High Transparency Finish for Samsung Captivate

Protect the screen on your Samsung Captivate from scratches and fingermarks with a Monoprice protective screen film. This screen protector is sized to perfectly fit your Samsung Captivate and comes with a High Transparency finish, which allows the full spectrum of colors to shine through in all their original glory.

While the film will adhere to the screen, it will not leave any resins or residue when removed. The packaging includes a lint-free cleaning cloth, to ensure that the screen is clean before applying the film, and an installation card, to help remove any small air bubbles that may occur during application.

    Samsung Captivate not included!

    Package includes:

    • Protective screen film
    • Lint-free cleaning cloth
    • Installation card

How to apply the Screen Protective Film to your phone:

    1. Please turn the device off. Clean the surface of the touch screen with the cloth provided in a dust-free environment. Please do not use cleaning agents.
    2. Start by folding down the backing layer. Avoid touching the back of the film, which may leave your fingerprints on it, peel off about an inch. Make sure the adhesive side is facing down.
Note: Removing the backing all at once may cause static that could attract unwanted dust.
    3. Apply the film with adhesive side toward the screen. Align the screen protector with the screen edge and place it in position by applying light pressure to the film at the point of contact (front side).
Work your way across the screen, slowly pulling the backing layer off.
Be sure not to leave any bubbles on the screen surface as you go. If you have any air bubbles when finished, see below.
    4. If you notice bubbles as you go, pull back and retry. If it's caused by dirt, attempt to lightly flick it off or use the sticky side of a piece of tape, (clothes lint roller tape is best).
Use the installation card provided to smooth out any bubbles not caused by dirt. Apply light pressure evenly across the surface until the film is completely adhered. If no dirt is present, very small air bubbles may dissipate in a few days.

Pros: It seemed like a nice, clear finish on the film. Probably would have been pretty nice to use for a while.

Cons: I have never had much luck applying protective films with a peel-and-stick application method. It's almost impossible to line up 100% - or even 95% - without peeling if off and trying again, usually then over-correcting and being off again to the other side. I only tried this time because it was only ~50 cents for the film, and would have been enraged if I'd spent a lot of money on it. I gave up and threw the whole thing away after fighting with it for 10 minutes and ruining it with dust and fingerprints.

I wouldn't suggest this or any dry install peel-n-stick type film ever again to anyone. Yeah, the more expensive wet install type films cost more, but it's worth it just for the sake of getting it on the dang phone. If it has a lifetime warranty as well, that just sweetens the deal.

    Hello Christopher,

Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues you have experienced with the screen protector. For applying the screen protector with the least amount of bubbles possible, we recommend doing it in the bathroom while running a hot shower. The steam will pull any dust particles to the floor then you can apply the screen protector and smooth it out with a credit card. If the protector is being significantly problematic you can pop the air bubbles. Sorry again for the trouble and hope this helps!

Pros: Cheap, ships fast, works really well.

Cons: cheap, hard to apply, non-reuseable

ordered one to try it out, thought might as well try one as this is cents compared to $20+ for similar products. It says it comes with card to apply it with, it never did. Disappointed about that. I couldnt get it installed without an bubbles, but that may have just been me cause it was my first try. I tried to reapply it, and it didnt work. Tons and tons of bubbles. I might try another one tho, just cause its cheap.
