MHL HDMI Cable Adapter for Android Phones and Tablets - Black

    MHL is here!

The Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) is a new standard for use with tablets and smartphones. It sends the audio and video signals through the micro USB connector and converts it to an HDMI® signal for use on HDTVs. The signal remains in digital format throughout the entire transmission and conversion process, so no quality is lost.

This is a single-cable adapter solution for all MHL compatible Android devices. Additionally, it includes an 11-pin to 5-pin adapter cable so that it can be used with the Samsung Galaxy SIII and Note II. Normally you would need an MHL to HDMI adapter, an HDMI cable, and another micro USB cable to provide power to the converter, but this single cable has all you need. Just plug the micro USB end into your Android device, plug the USB A end into a USB power source (computer, charger, etc.), and plug the HDMI end into your TV. The cable is 29" long on the micro USB end and 69" long on the USB A male end. It supports all video resolutions, including 1080p, and up to 8 channels of audio (for 7.1 surround sound). It also supports 3D video and HDCP media protection.

Some devices (such as the HTC EVO 3D) can supply sufficient power from their internal batteries to drive the adapter. For others, or in the event you want to charge your device while using the AV output, you can plug the USB cable into a USB power source.

The current list of MHL compatible devices can be found on the Official MHL Consortium Website.

    * The Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II require the use of an 11-to-5 pin Micro USB adapter to use a standard 5-pin MHL adapter.

Pros: It does what it says it will do.

It does what it says it will do. I suspect the bad reviews are people that bought a cable not compatible with their phone. If this is the right cable for your phone it will work. If not, it won't.

Pros: It was easy to install and connect quickly with no delays....

Cons: It won't charge. I tried my samsung S3 as well as Tab3. I wasn't happy with that. I don't know what to do.

Thank you for your review on PID 10021. My apologies for the charging issues experienced with this MHL cable adapter. Just to verify, does this occur even when a different power source is used (USB wall charger, USB port on a computer, etc.)? Also, has this been an issue since you first received the adapter? Please let me know so we can look into this matter further. If the issues persist, I can assist you in setting up an RMA for a replacement as we cover this product with a one year warranty. Obtaining the replacement would be of no additional cost to you. Truly sorry again for the trouble and I hope this helps!

Review of 2X1 Mini HDMI® Switch w/ Optional Power Input

Pros: I am using this cable for my Samsung S5 cell phone. It outputs to the HDMI input of my LG TV.

Since the Samsung using a non-standard mini HDMI jack, the adapter that came with this cable makes this work just fine. I think this is a great product.

Works with Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

Pros: Works with Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 connected to a Pioneer plasma TV, using the included 11-5 pin adapter.

Cons: When connecting, the TV screen flashes the tablet home screen on and off anywhere from 5 to 15 times before it shows the home screen steadily. Don't know if that is expected behavior.

    Instructions would be nice.
