DVD Bracket (Max 22Lbs, VESA 400x380) - Black

This DVD Mount Bracket is designed to attach to the back of your TV in its VESA mount holes. The unit has a smoked glass shelf that can be placed above or below the TV to hold a DVD player, or any other similarly sized device.

The bracket can fit on almost any TV with a maximum VESA mount size of 400x380. The maximum weight capacity of the bracket is 10 kg (22 lbs), so if it is setup with the shelf under the TV, the total weight of the TV and whatever is put on the shelf cannot exceed the maximum weight capacity. The shelf can also be mounted above the display, in which case it can support the entire 22 lb weight.

Support Files:

Maximum Mounting Width 400 mm (VESA 400) (15.7 inches)
Maximum Mounting Height 380 mm (15 inches)
Shelf Width 460 mm (18.1 inches)
Shelf Depth (Maximum) 252 mm (9.9 inches)
Shelf Glass Thickness 5 mm (0.2 inches)
Maximum Weight Capacity 10 kg (22 lbs)

  • 1x Glass Shelf
  • 2x Adapter Brackets
  • 2x Glass Brackets
  • 6x M4x6 Screws

Pros: Simple and basic
Mounts to your TV even if you have an existing mounting bracket
Can be set to go under the TV or above it
Since the drop down brackets that adjust to the TV are separate from each other, and have mounting slots all up and down them, this thing is almost infinitely expandable.

Cons: Instructions are a little vague, sometimes hard to figure out which end to attach to which flange, etc...
A little hard to put together with some parts, such as attaching the mount clips to the shelf itself

Really, there is no problem with this now that I have it together. As I said, trying to figure out which end of the brackets to attach the shelf to is a little hard to see in the picture, but after that, it's golden. I'd have to say that my only complaint would be that the thing doesn't make breakfast?

I searched for these quite a bit, and I believe that this is the only bracket I found. It's definitely the cheapest, the most versatile, and the least complicated.

Pros: Fit my 40" Samsung LCD just right - one of the old heavy LCDs with cathode lighing

Cons: Mechanism to hold the shelf is plastic clips which tighten when screw into the mounting brackets. Took some effort to get them on the shelf.

This fit my old 40" Samsung LCD just fine. I was able to mount it to the TV underneath the mounting brackets for a VESA compliant wall mount. I put a mac mini, an external CD drive, and Roku on top of the TV.

Pros: It works, but only after I got super MacGyver on it.

Cons: Brackets don't fit my Samsung UN46F6300 46" TV.

I don't have myTV mounted to the wall, it just sits on an entertainment cabinet. I bought this shelf to setup my center channel speaker to sit above my TV, rather than leaving it sitting to the right of the TV on the cabinet.

Unfortunately, the brackets were too short to fir the screw hole pattern on the back of the TV (46" Samsung UN46F6300). I fastened the brackets to the two upper screw holes and then used some zip ties to connect the two brackets together at the lowest possible point on the brackets themselves (in a triangle shape). This setup seems to provide enough stability for the Polk CS1 center channel speaker to sit securely, albeit without the fancy glass shelf (the speaker sits on the arms which would have held the shelf).

As its been stated many times throughout this review page, there are no VESA mounting screws included with this product, as the shelf is intended to be slotted into a VESA mount (which would include the mounting bolts in question). I used "M8" sized for my Samsung which were easily found at the local hardware store, no whining required.

Keeping in mind that this bracket system is intended to complement an already installed mount, I aint mad that it didn't fit as expected on the back of my TV. However, if you aren't willing to improvise a little on the installation, then you probably don't want to mess with this product if you have a TV larger than 40-42 inches and you aren't intending to mount the TV.

Pros: Simple install, inexpensive, and attractive.

Cons: Only intended to work by mounting to VESA mounting holes on tv, so doesn't work well with tilt &swivel wall-mounts.

The intended install isn't appropriate if you are intending to use with a tilt & swivel mount like monoprice PID 8516. I expected this possibility when i ordered, but this could be made clearer.

I solved this by doing a slightly non-standard install. I installed to the wall behind the tv by mounting the vertical brackets through two pieces of wood, and then through sheetrock and into wall anchors. The shelf holds a blu-ray player below the tv. It looks quite good.
