    Bluetooth® Party Speaker

Be the Master of Ceremonies and the Disk Jockey at your next party, BBQ, camping trip, or family outing using this Bluetooth® Party Speaker from Monoprice!

This portable speaker system is designed to serve as both a music source and a PA system. It features an 8" woofer and 1/2" dome tweeter with a frequency response of 50 Hz ~ 20 kHz (±3dB). It is powered by a built in amplifier that can produce up to 50 watts.

The speaker system is powered using either an AC power connection or a built-in rechargeable lead-acid type powersports battery. When under battery power the amplifier can produce up to 18 watts.

There are four primary methods of connecting to a music source:

    • Bluetooth - you can stream music from your smartphone or tablet to the speaker system using a wireless Bluetooth connection
    • USB - you can plug a USB flash drive with mp3 and/or wma files into the USB port
    • SD/MMC Card - you can plug an SD or MMC card with mp3 and/or wma files into the card slot
    • Wired - you can connect a line level input into the 3.5mm TRS jack or into the two RCA jacks

Additionally, the system sports two 1/4" microphone jacks, so up to two people can take the stage to MC or sing along with the music. The system features three individual volume controls for the various inputs:

    • MIC VOLUME - controls the volume level of the two microphone inputs
    • AUX VOLUME - controls the volume level of the line-level and Bluetooth inputs
    • VOL+/VOL- - controls the volume level of the built-in mp3/wma player for the USB and card slot inputs

Additionally, a single Master volume knob controls the final amplifier output level. All three input channels are simultaneously active and are mixed into the final output.

Note that there are no special formatting or file organizational requirements for the USB and Card Slot inputs. You can have any number of individual music files, but are limited to a total of 999 directories/folders. The mp3 player will recognize music files in subdirectories up to 99 deep, but it is highly recommended to limit to no more than 8 directory levels.

The speaker comes with a remote control, which can be used to control the volume levels as well as mp3 playback and navigation.

Note: The remote control that comes with the speaker system has two buttons labeled CH+ and CH-. Pressing either of these buttons will only change volume.

Cons: One problem with this unit is that it's too easy to move around. Somehow it always ends up in my teenage son's room.

I have mine over a year now and it's been the best Monoprice purchase I've made. This thing has been used almost daily during that time with almost no issues.. The microphone did stop working at some point, but we rarely used that anyway. It's probably the very cheap looking mic cable that they supply.

Pros: Solidly built sound quality easy Bluetooth connectivity long battery life.

Cons: Manual could do with some improvement. It would have been nice for them to say what the replacement battery should be without having to open the unit to find out. The battery should also come with a plastic easy-removal tab (like what some APC UPSes come with). I had to turn the unit upside down and jerk it to get it to slide out.

It took me a while to make the decision to order this, the shipping is a lil high but I now understand why... this is one solidly built little cube. I was only interested in this for it's Bluetooth connectivity and my main purpose was use it at the beach, where I could get a decent sound without an electrical connection.

I am impressed. Bluetooth setup was a breeze. My Blackberry Leap is sometime finicky with BT pairing but this pairing is flawless... not just the first time but every time! Sound quality is very good with the 8" woofer giving decent lows. It filled my room with good quality highs and reasonably acceptable lows (please don't expect to hear deep lows like you're running a 15" box!). Nice luggage extendable pull handle and wheels. I like the corner protectors which are screwed-in and not riveted, in case they need to be changed.

So I had to test this thing on battery longevity because I bought it for the beach. Wow, I was blown away... I played this thing at 3/4 volume for hours! 6 hrs later, this thing is still at half-battery (as measured by it's LED meter).

Now, in case you want to buy an extra battery like me, it comes with a TianChang 6-FM-4.5 12V 5A (alarm-type) battery.

Pros: Good with music, even better when broadcasting voices like during sporting events.
    Great price
Easy on the eyes! It's a great looking speaker

Cons: No optical audio input jack. No big deal at all, just one of those features that would've been a nice surprise.

I use this speaker for outdoors when I host "fight night" or movie night at my house and set up a projector to get a bigger picture. This speaker is loud enough to get the sound to everyone watching (even the peaky neighbors). When the show is over we'll connect a phone to it and start playing music, it handles that great too! I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to bass and this speaker did not disappoint!

We've only had the chance to use the new Party Speaker twice, but the kids love the microphone, easy bluetooth connectivity, and really good quality sound for under a $100. Can't be beat.

Speaker is great, very portable and reasonably good sound for what it is.

I attempted to hook up a chromecast audio (since wifi ranges are much longer than bluetooth, and I tend to wonder around), but the USB power on the speaker doesn't seem to output enough juice to power it. When I plug the CCA into the wall, everything works great.

I am also getting some feedback when I plug in the CCA into the 3.5 mm jack. If anyone else runs into this issue, you may need a ground loop isolator. I have one from radio shack that is about 100 years old. It looks like monoprice has one too, PID 6909. Its unfortunate because the isolators are a bit bulky.

If I could get the Chromecast audio to drive the speakers, it would be a 5 star'er.

Does anyone else have thoughts on how to give the CCA enough power to run? I plugged my phone in and it appears to be charging, so it is getting some power out.
