Pros: Compact. Cheap.

Cons: Can't lay hot vocals with this.

Simply no gimics. No morketing speak. It is a desktop mic for your computer. If you want.professional grade, pay the recommended money.
You will need to adjust mixer settings on the computer because the response on this thing is quite low.

Pros: NONE

Cons: Dead on arrival.

I plugged it into my computer expecting it to work, but when i tested it with audacity the recording was just random noise, my voice didnt even register. There were no manuals or instructions, no indication of missing drivers, and no manuals online iether

Hi Richard,

Truly sorry to hear about your experience with PID 2925. Have you tried testing the mic with another device? Does the issue continue? Should the mic still not function, we do offer a 30 day return policy as well as a one year warranty on this item. If you would like I can assist you in setting up an RMA for a replacement to see if that will work better for you. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. Thanks in advance!

Not really worth

Pros: Cheap, nice design with nice long cable

Cons: not strong at all, doesn't work after being dropped

I figured this was cheap so why not. Turns out to pick up my voice about as well as my webcam which doesn't even have specs on it. My computer doesn't acknowledge it working anymore after only testing it on two separate incidents, possibly from sliding around and falling off of the top of my speaker.

Kind of Sucks

Pros: -Better Quality sound than my webcam mic(less echo effect too)
-Mute Switch
- Folds/Extends

Cons: -The sound was better than my webcam, but in general it wasn't that crisp and clear.
-Really annoying background noise.
-Super Quite (I sit 1 foot away, at around 1 inch away the sound is actually not bad)

I purchased this because I didn't like the quality of my webcam mic that much and I thought this would be a good alternative despite many negative reviews. I was wrong. For being this cheap, I guess it is worth it. The only way I can make it sound good is by talking 1 inch away from it and turn down its sensitivity a bit(in Skype/Windows). However at a usable distance(in my case 1 foot), it is either decent volume with a ton of background noise or super quite and acceptable background noise. I tried to get it to sound better using Adobe Audition + VBcable Driver, but I just couldn't do it. I could remove background noise, with the sacrifice of volume, I could amplify the volume with extra background noise, and If I amplified volume and removed background noise, it just sounded terrible.
In conclusion, this is not the usual monoprice quality you would expect, it is cheap, but you don't really get anything for the money. I would definitively pay $15 for a much better alternative if monoprice had one, I would strongly recommend you invest in this, a inexpensive microphone that picks up audio clearly, and from a good distance without annoying noises.
**If you would like, I can send you guys samples of the sound for diagnosis or whatever to improve the product**

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Poor sound quality
Poor pickup/gain

Purchased this for use as a gaming microphone so I could use my speakers instead of a microphone headset. The sound was serviceable, but less than ideal. It did not meet my needs, and I quickly replaced it with a non-Monoprice USB condenser microphone (overkill, but works extremely well.) That said, if someone was using this microphone for a traditional VOIP chat I could see it being serviceable (but if a $10 or $20 microphone was available with better sound pickup I'd recommend splurging.)

Hello Tony,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the experience you have had with PID 2925. A shame this microphone did not work out for your setup. If you have not done so already, I can help setup an RMA for a return. I will also pass this info along to our product team so they can look into resolving this issue or making the product better. If you would like me to proceed with the RMA, please provide the order number and I can get that started right away. Thank you!
