Premium Hi-Fi DJ Style Over-the-Ear Pro Headphone

DJs can put in some long hours as they spin the tunes and they need equipment that is both comfortable and rugged enough to withstand heavy use. These Monoprice Pro Headphones are designed for the professional sound spinner and the casual listener that wants the best quality sound and best durability available.

The earpieces on these 'phones are equipped with thick, comfortable padding that keeps the music inside and the noise outside. They swivel up to 90 degrees so they can double as a makeshift set of speakers. The headphones can extend up to 1.5" on each side and are wide enough to fit over a cap, while maintaining good contact over the ears. The headpiece is also padded on the inside and is made of flexible rubber, ensuring that it won't break.

The headsets do not have a fixed wire. Instead, there is a 3.5 mm jack in the bottom of the left earpiece, which allows a standard 3.5 mm audio patch cable to be inserted. This means that if you break a wire, you don't have to throw away the headphones or make a messy repair; just get a new cable and you're ready to rock again!

The 50 mm drivers and 100 dB sensitivity ensure that these 'phones produce good volume and premium sound clarity at all frequencies. The kit comes with two 3.5 mm male-to-male, gold-plated audio cables and a 3.5 mm to 1/4" gold-plated adapter plug.

The thicker cable is over 11.5 ft long and is well suited for professional work and for laying back on your couch to enjoy the tunes. A thinner, lightweight cable is also included, which measures about 50" in length and is better suited for more portable operations.

High-quality sound, supreme durability, and maximum comfort. These ARE the 'phones you've been looking for!

Pros: Price, good sound if a bit bass-heavy, good isolation. Long chord. Doesn't require a lot of volume to be driven to
    comfortable listening level.

Cons: Tend to break at top of earcup. Needs a bit more high-end.

My phones broke yesterday, the left earcup broke at the top. I think the folding design contributes to the chance
    of breaking.

Great Over the Ear Headphones, Period

Pros: Sound quality, although a bit bass heavy and highs can be a bit brighter
The unit fits well on my head as well as my young daughter's
Generous amount of cables included, 2. I would personally prefer heavier one that lighter 2

    Cons: Plastic construction
    Comfort of pads

Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a DJ nor audio professional. I am, however, enthusiastic user of various audio equipment big and small and own quite a few headphone both cheap and expensive. With that said, I am simply impressed by sound quality of these headphones regardless of the price. For those who are looking for more emphasis on bass from headphones of this size and caliber, you won't be disappointed. To me, I think it's a bit much since I prefer more natural, accurate sound but it isn't unbearable like the ones with "b" logos on them. I use Audio Technica ATH-M50 so you have an idea of what kind of sound I am used to.
I primarily use this for casual listening on my smartphone, laptop gaming as well as PS4 gaming via controller port. I can honestly say that everything sounds great and really enjoy the audio from PS4 games. I've heard that comfort of these headphones was the most negative aspect and I believe that is somewhat true. It's not that they put a lot of pressure on your head with proper adjustments, it has more to do with pads themselves. They can use more material for padding with increased size. Little padding these have on top of the headphones don't really do much either. I've spent good 2+ hours on PS4 gaming with these and I wasn't in pain or anything so they do the job, just not most comfortably.
The unit includes 2 3.5mm male to male cables but I can't say much about them. Knowing quality of Monoprice's cables, I am sure they are more than adequate. I opted for more solid cables I have sitting around the house.
You can easily spend your hard earned $20 toward discount headphones at your local Best Buy, Target or Walmart but I can easily say that you won't find quality product such as this at any of those places. If you are on the fence, I would say just buy them. You won't be disappointed.

p.s. There are forums out there to mod these headphones but I am not planning on doing any of them. I am a tinkerer but for what I paid for, they sound great without any more time and effort.

Good sound for price, uncomfortable for extended listening sessions

    Pros: Cheap
    Good Sound
    Multiple cables
    solid build

    Cons: little tight
    uncomfortable during longer listening sessions

Can't get a much better value than these for their price with solid sound and build quality. Wish ear cups were a little deeper to reduce ear fatigue and the band could extend out a little further, granted I have a larger head. After several hours of listening they start to hurt.

    Comfy, Sound Great, Inexpensive

    Pros: Comfortable
    Isolate outside sound fairly well
    Sound clear

    Cons: large
    clamp a little tightly
    cause unavoidable headphone hair indent

Title says it all. They are comfortable, but clamp very securely around my (big?) head. They sound as good as my $50 Klipsch in ear set. Due to a sale and free shipping I got them for about $12.
