Premium Hi-Fi DJ Style Over-the-Ear Pro Headphone

DJs can put in some long hours as they spin the tunes and they need equipment that is both comfortable and rugged enough to withstand heavy use. These Monoprice Pro Headphones are designed for the professional sound spinner and the casual listener that wants the best quality sound and best durability available.

The earpieces on these 'phones are equipped with thick, comfortable padding that keeps the music inside and the noise outside. They swivel up to 90 degrees so they can double as a makeshift set of speakers. The headphones can extend up to 1.5" on each side and are wide enough to fit over a cap, while maintaining good contact over the ears. The headpiece is also padded on the inside and is made of flexible rubber, ensuring that it won't break.

The headsets do not have a fixed wire. Instead, there is a 3.5 mm jack in the bottom of the left earpiece, which allows a standard 3.5 mm audio patch cable to be inserted. This means that if you break a wire, you don't have to throw away the headphones or make a messy repair; just get a new cable and you're ready to rock again!

The 50 mm drivers and 100 dB sensitivity ensure that these 'phones produce good volume and premium sound clarity at all frequencies. The kit comes with two 3.5 mm male-to-male, gold-plated audio cables and a 3.5 mm to 1/4" gold-plated adapter plug.

The thicker cable is over 11.5 ft long and is well suited for professional work and for laying back on your couch to enjoy the tunes. A thinner, lightweight cable is also included, which measures about 50" in length and is better suited for more portable operations.

High-quality sound, supreme durability, and maximum comfort. These ARE the 'phones you've been looking for!

Very Comparable to Sony MDR-V6

Pros: There is a more than reasonable dimensional separation between instruments and they’re as much a pleasure to have on your head as professional studio headphones.
Well constructed and you get 2 different removable wires.
At great value at this price point.

Cons: Dynamic range maybe is not wide as more expensive headsets. Sound is a bit more compressed.

For 20 years plus I produced business television relying on camera and sound pros to maximize sight and sound potential despite uncontrollable field challenges. My sound guy relied on Sony MDR-V6 Series Professional headphones for field checks there as well as in the editing room. They produce a clear, crisp, broad sound range and deliver a quality product to my customers. That’s an $80 pair of headphones.

These headphones remind me a lot of Sony’s. Dynamic range maybe is not wide. Sound is a bit more compressed. But there is a more than reasonable dimensional separation between instruments and they’re as much a pleasure to have on your head as the Sony’s. Ear pads rotate two directions to support a very comfortable placement over ears. Ear pads provide needed ambient sound elimination for music appreciation without fostering a migraine. The removable, interchangeable cables make listening to music convenient whether you’re working out or hanging out by your amplifier. Maybe not the greatest headphones on the planet but they’d be my first choice backup if my Sony’s were to go out. At this price, I haven’t seen anything that comes near them. They’re a true value in my eyes.

Pros: Sound is great, comfortable for my big noggin, cheap price. Love the detachable cable.

Cons: No complaints from me.

I have a big noodle, so wearing headphones or hats are not my style. However, these fit pretty good, and don't squeeze too hard. Would definitely use Monoprice again if I am in the market for headphones.

Pros: Sound better than you think. the Price~ duhhh! light.

Cons: this is just a personal thing, but if you are a larger dude, it might be a little snug.

I think MONO put all of the $20 into the headphones and paid for the packaging with their own money - the results is amazing. The box itself isn't bad either but if you are nitpicking on the box, then you are. odd. i am getting another to use at work.

Pros: Sound Quality, Volume (sensitivity), Frequency Response are all top notch. Removable cords is a plus.

Cons: Looks are not that great, the longer cord is a bit too long, feel cheap.

I have a pair of Audio Technica Ath-M50 that I use for studio and home use and I swear these sound very comparable for about 1/5 of the price. I love that I can use these for DJ shows and they work reliably, sound great and have enough volume to hear over the loudspeakers I use. I highly recommend these, for the price there is nothing close. For 5x the price, yes there are a few pairs of cans that will beat them.

If you are looking for a flashy set of cans, these are probably not for you, but they do the job and sound great. Also work great for a backup and casual use. I don't think I'd use them for critical studio monitoring but they do have a sweet sound for cueing and listening.

Pros: Work great
Long cord is really durable.

Cons: Long cord is too long but it only took a day for the thin one to stop working.
After about a year, the jack becomes loose and the thick cord starts to decay.

I have had a total of three pairs of these headphones, I love them but I hate that I can't order a shorter version of the thicker cord from the site. I have ordered multiple different cords but none of them have the same thickness. Anything the same thickness will have the area at the jack be too big to fit in the lip of the headset. I also don't like that it's always almost exactly after a year of having purchased them they start to deteriorate. I have to tape the wire a certain way on the headset or I need to hold it a certain way on the other end when it's plugged into my mp3 if I don't want to loose sound in the left ear. For the price though it's a really good deal.
