DJs can put in some long hours as they spin the tunes and they need equipment that is both comfortable and rugged enough to withstand heavy use. These Monoprice Pro Headphones are designed for the professional sound spinner and the casual listener that wants the best quality sound and best durability available.
The earpieces on these 'phones are equipped with thick, comfortable padding that keeps the music inside and the noise outside. They swivel up to 90 degrees so they can double as a makeshift set of speakers. The headphones can extend up to 1.5" on each side and are wide enough to fit over a cap, while maintaining good contact over the ears. The headpiece is also padded on the inside and is made of flexible rubber, ensuring that it won't break.
The headsets do not have a fixed wire. Instead, there is a 3.5 mm jack in the bottom of the left earpiece, which allows a standard 3.5 mm audio patch cable to be inserted. This means that if you break a wire, you don't have to throw away the headphones or make a messy repair; just get a new cable and you're ready to rock again!
The 50 mm drivers and 100 dB sensitivity ensure that these 'phones produce good volume and premium sound clarity at all frequencies. The kit comes with two 3.5 mm male-to-male, gold-plated audio cables and a 3.5 mm to 1/4" gold-plated adapter plug.
The thicker cable is over 11.5 ft long and is well suited for professional work and for laying back on your couch to enjoy the tunes. A thinner, lightweight cable is also included, which measures about 50" in length and is better suited for more portable operations.
High-quality sound, supreme durability, and maximum comfort. These ARE the 'phones you've been looking for!
Monoprice has everything you need to maximize your music experience! You may also want to consider:
Cons: Look and feel plastic all around, except the cable (9') feels like exceptionally a quality cable.
These oddly enough sound better than most of the expensive headphones people have heard of. Bose, Beats by Dre? Pft, Monoprice 8323s are superioir by far! Cleaner, crisper sound. And they are loud! Run them off an amp or external speaker jack and they are as loud as 2.5w Logitech speakers! I use them as speakers at work sometimes.
And this is my second pair, the first pair had a cable destroyed by a vacuum. With the price of these, I decided to just get a backup pair. A great compliment to my Sennheisers which I paid much, much more for.

Darned good bang-perbuck
Pros: - Reasonably comfortable - Good sound decent if slightly over-boosted bass with some clipping/distortion at modestly-loud volume, mid-range is a bit muffled, with slightly rolled-off highs - a somewhat 'veiled' sound. - Detachable cord, 9' long and uses a standard 1/8" stereo plug on both ends(!) - Comes with a good 1/8"-to-1/4" plug adapter - Foldable (I would not call these "collapsable", though) - $25!
Cons: - Ear pads are a bit small the fit might be more 'on-ear' than circum-aural, for some users - Top padding is rather skimpy - Pleather covering on earpads is not my favorite for comfort - I prefer a velour covering over simulated leather... - The supplied cord is rubbery, somewhat stiff - Doesn't come with a shorter, 3' cord for mobile, laptop or desk use - No storage or carrying bag supplied - They fold, but it doesn't really save all that much space or pack particularly well when folded. - They sound...like they are a $25 headphone
A great price to begin with. The detachable cord is a nice feature. Although these designed and packaged as 'over-the-ear' circum-aural headphones, the earpad/earcups are on the smallish side, which might be confining or even 'on-the-ear' for some users. These are closed-back cans, and the sound isolation is surprisingly good. The stereo image/sound-stage is so-so, but comparable to headphones around the same price point. Bass is OK but I noticed some distortion/clipping at not-all-that-loud volume settings these aren't bass-monster phones. Mid-range tone is muffled some as are the highs, which aren't super crisp.
These are not high-end headphones. Keeping that in mind, I'd rate the sound overall on the 'absolute' scale as a 3.5 of 10. On the 'price-point' scale (compared to other closed-back phones around $30 mark) I give them a 7 of 10 for sound quality.
At this price, these headphones are prime candidates for user-modding for example, the earpads could be replaced with better, larger & more comfortable earpads with considerable ease. The cord is easily upgraded to a better cable. The sound can be tuned by stuffing various padding/layers of foam/etc. within the earcups to tweak the response. And, any mistakes would inexpensive to recover or replace! In fact, I'd say these might well be the most modd-able headphones out there. :-)
Frankly, these headphones look kinda 'budget' overall, even though the build quality is acceptable at this price point. Overall, a good deal despite their shortcomings.

Pros: Great sound, collapsible, removable cord
These are my first "real" headphone purchase. I never really used earbuds, but also never experimented past the $10-15 over the ear headphones you will find at a drug store. I'm glad I made the jump with these Monoprice phones. These seem like the perfect entry into the quality headphone world.
For about $30 with shipping, you will not be disappointed. Great sound, collapsible for packing/storage, and removable cord are the best features of these phones. They seem to seal in the sound well, and isolate the listener from most noise around them.

Over-the-Ear Pro Headphone
Pros: Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The sound is excellent. I was shocked at the volume response. These do not need to be turned up loud to deliver a quality sound. I like that.
Not too long ago I had purchased a set of headphones costing over $100. They lay on the ear and not over the ear. I cannot wear them over 15 mins before they start hurting my ears. The Over-the-Ear Pro Headphone I just purchase are now my choice. Quality of sound is there, easy on the head and ears, and the response is great.
