    Learn more about Monoprice Business

Premium Hi-Fi DJ Style Over-the-Ear Pro Headphone

DJs can put in some long hours as they spin the tunes and they need equipment that is both comfortable and rugged enough to withstand heavy use. These Monoprice Pro Headphones are designed for the professional sound spinner and the casual listener that wants the best quality sound and best durability available.

The earpieces on these 'phones are equipped with thick, comfortable padding that keeps the music inside and the noise outside. They swivel up to 90 degrees so they can double as a makeshift set of speakers. The headphones can extend up to 1.5" on each side and are wide enough to fit over a cap, while maintaining good contact over the ears. The headpiece is also padded on the inside and is made of flexible rubber, ensuring that it won't break.

The headsets do not have a fixed wire. Instead, there is a 3.5 mm jack in the bottom of the left earpiece, which allows a standard 3.5 mm audio patch cable to be inserted. This means that if you break a wire, you don't have to throw away the headphones or make a messy repair; just get a new cable and you're ready to rock again!

The 50 mm drivers and 100 dB sensitivity ensure that these 'phones produce good volume and premium sound clarity at all frequencies. The kit comes with two 3.5 mm male-to-male, gold-plated audio cables and a 3.5 mm to 1/4" gold-plated adapter plug.

The thicker cable is over 11.5 ft long and is well suited for professional work and for laying back on your couch to enjoy the tunes. A thinner, lightweight cable is also included, which measures about 50" in length and is better suited for more portable operations.

High-quality sound, supreme durability, and maximum comfort. These ARE the 'phones you've been looking for!

Sound great, warm ears after a while

    Pros: Sound great, awesome price

Cons: They do look a little dorky and press tightly on the area under the ears

They sound great, for the price they cannot be beat. Regrettably, and maybe it's just me, but they start to feel uncomfortable after a while, like they press a little more than they should in the area under the ears behind the jaw. Thing is I have a normal, regular sized head, so I have no idea why. Bought two, one for me, one for my brother, so I will try the other one and figure if this issue is just for the one headphone.

    Okay for the money

Pros: Acceptable sound for the price.

Cons: Build quality is cheap. The wire plug on the headset is poor performing and can't support "heavier wires"

I bought these looking for something inexpensive with decent sound quality. The sound quality is definitely okay. You won't be doing studio quality work on it but for listening off of the cheap DAC in a laptop or a phone they do the job. The build quality is where the problem lies. Cheap plastic = cheap quality and cheap looking. No one is going to mistake these for high quality headsets. However, the biggest problem is the poor QA. The 3/8" plug on the headset is loose/does not have a good grip. So a wire like PID 5581 keeps falling out. To be clear the wire fits in just fine and sits to the hub in the jack. However, the jack is so weak the wire slips out about an 1/8" of an inch just enough to prevent stereo function. The headset works fine with the thin short provided wires.

    Mostly great

    Pros: -Plenty of bass.
-Very long cord and very short cord, perfect for when I'm DJing and when I'm just on my computer, and if my cord breaks I can just replace it with any other cord.
-Electronic & Hip Hop music sounds great with these headphones.
    -Great look and flexibility.
-Very inexpensive and pretty much the best headphones for beginner DJ's.

Cons: -Vocals (depending on the song and genre) sound a bit tinny and for some reason sounds like there's extra reverb on the vocals. Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but sometimes it sounds tinny and too reverby and almost low quality.
-Non-electronic/rap music sounds overly bass-heavy and weird with these headphones. Since they're DJ headphones, they're not made for Rock music, so if you're a Rock-listener only these headphones probably aren't for you.
-Top of my head hurts a little bit after wearing for a long time. It doesn't hurt that much or enough to where it makes me want to take them off for an extended period of time.

Overall, these are a great set of cans. You can see my gripes and compliments with these headphones in the Pros/Cons section, but for a short sum up of how I feel, they're great for the price. I know that's a cliché thing to say about headphones, but it's true. There are better headphones for sure if you want to spring for a higher price and higher quality, but these are the best headphones on the market for the $20-$40 price range. If you're working in a super high end music business and you need the highest of equipment, I'd suggest avoiding these, but if you're in a home studio or a semi-known studio or (regardless of your status) you're DJing, you can't go wrong with these headphones. I would do 4.5/5 but I can't so I'll just go with 4.

These headphones are great! Do make sure to buy the replacement ear pads. They are incredibly comfortable and are great for listening, recording, DJing, etc.

Plenty has been written on these so I'm just concurring that they are a wonderful value in every important category. I have 5 I use in my studio during tracking.
