Cat5e Inline Coupler Type Keystone Jack - Black

Easy to use coupler style keystones allow you to use RJ45 terminated cables in the front and the back eliminating the need to splice wires while standing behind a rack. You can use pre-terminated fix length cables as well, eliminating the need for crimping. Fits all standard keystone wall plates and panels.

Pros: The price, form and fit were very good.

Cons: I should have bought a CAT 6 rated coupler

Should have gone with a premade patch panel instead.

Pros: Inexpensive, Easy to Install

Cons: High failure rate

I purchased 30 of these for use with a patch panel. Immediately after installing them, 4 of them failed testing with a cable tester. (All cables passed). I don't use all 30 ports so I didn't test every port. As I use new ports around the office it never surprises me when a new port on an untested keystone fails. I have 8 out of the original 30 bad now.

They work intermittently if you press the cable into the jack further (further than the latch on the cable already holds it in). I have 1 that I have taped in because I ran out of spares to swap out when this one started acting up.

Maybe I should have gone with a premade patch panel instead.

Hello bzero,

Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues you have experienced with PID 7285. Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have received a few defective jacks.
Now if you'd like, I can help setup an RMA for replacements. If you would like me to proceed with the RMA, all I would need is the order # these jacks are under. Sorry again for the trouble and thanks in advance!

I appreciate the support. I will try and locate the old jacks and get back in touch with you. Once I determined they were bad, I decided it may not be worth sending them back as shipping may outway the cost of replacement so I am not sure I still even have them.

Monoprice has GREAT support and I love their prices. The occasional DOA is bound to happen and if it does, Monoprice is the best company to work the problem out. Thanks
