    Worked perfectly

    Pros: It just works

Cons: Instructions could be better for newbies

First time installing a network, so I started slowly. Online instructions were decent, except in the diagram on step 3 the lip should be on bottom. It's also not clear how much wire you should leave sticking out from the insert when you trim it. (As little as possible the electrical connection is made inside the insert.) I also found a video to help. Used with PID 13561 solid copper Cat 6. All 6 worked perfectly the first time at gigabit speed.

    Work great

    Pros: - Inexpensive
    - Easy to use
    - Great value

Cons: - Little awkward sliding the guide clip over all the wires.
    - Require a bit more force to make solid connection in some female adapters (snap in).

I bought these to make my own switch patch cables. Not sure if there has been a redesign lately, but Ive had no problems using these connectors. Connection is solid and cable jacket does not wiggle at all. The included wire guide piece is a bit of a chore to get on all the wires, but once you do it slides nicely. The guide also makes a nice guide to help you trim the wires accordingly. For those of you saying they fall out of female receptacles Make sure you push the male end in firmly. I had this issue at first too (felt like i was breaking them), but when I pushed the connector in a bit more and an audible 'snap' was heard. A quick tug confirmed solid connection.

Poor quality plugs that won't click after being crimped

I use the Monoprice crimp tool (product 8139) and the retaining tab on the plug smooshes flat and won't click after being crimped. This seems to happen with every plug. I face the same issue with Cat6 plugs (product 7266).

With all these plugs, I always have to flare out the retaining tab by hand after crimping, so that it sticks out better and then the plug clicks and fits perfectly in the jack. Although this is a workaround, it also potentially makes the retaining tab weaker.

Other brand plugs from a local hardware store work without any issues. It seems like a design defect.

Doesn't stay seated in female plugs

    Pros: Crimps easily
    Cheap

Cons: Doesn't stay seated in female plugs

I haven't had issues crimping these, but I DO have issues with these plugs not staying inserted in the keystones, switches or any devices that I've inserted these into. It is very frustrating to see a connection issue and find that the cable pulls right out without even pressing the clip. I usually have to bend the clip backwards slightly to get it to seat, but it still finds a way to come loose even though I'm not moving these cables much if at all.

    Pros: none

Cons: headache, waste of money and time

worst RJ-45 connectors, crimped the cable as per the guide provided by monoprice, used insert properly , used monoprice crimper, checked the connectivity, none, great, then i cut the wire midway and used multimeter to check which end is problematic, worst, both the connector, hardly 2-3 strand shows connectivity, look like some design flow, check other review with same issue (i should have read all that review)
