Cat6 RJ-45 Toolless Keystone - Yellow

Easy to use, toolless (no soldering or screwdriver req.) modular CAT 6 Keystone jack. RJ45 female connector. To be used with keystone wall plate or panel. Wiring diagram on clip.
This product is intended for use with 23~24 AWG Solid Ethernet cable. It will not work well with stranded Ethernet cable. If you're using stranded Ethernet cable, please use a punch-down style keystone jack.

Note that the width of the RJ45 keystones is such that two cannot be used side-by-side in the same wall-plate.

Comes with lever for ease of installation and retaining clip for secure connection.

Pros: Wiring diagrams are printed on the jack. Pretty easy to figure out how to wire it.

Cons: No instructions. Unless the jack is taken apart on the hinge, very difficult to work the wires into position.
The blades did not adequately cut through the insulation. I had a 50% failure rate.

I chose these tooless jacks because I did not want to spend the money on a tool, I won't be doing wiring projects on a regular basis. So for the money, they were worth it.

But due to the blades not cutting into the insulation I had a 50% failure rate. Fortunately by opening the jack back up and taking a razor blade, I was able to scrape away the insulation, allowing for a complete connection when I closed the jack again.

Cons: Too wide for some gang plates, difficult to keep wires aligned

I thought that getting these jacks would be easier than the punch down kind, but was disappointed in how much longer it took to get everything to stay in the slot until you can close the lid. I ended up using the locking lever to hold the wires on one side while aligning the wires on the other. I purchased some of each color and the yellow keystones had problems making a good connection on lead 1. My other problem is they are too wide for the 4 and 6 gang plates that use close spacing and are separate from the wall plate.

Easy to use, once you get the hang of it.

I like these tooless jacks but I had a hard time getting the little wires lined up the first time. This is the first time I've used a product like this.

Once I used some jewelry tools to help me line all the wires up it was simple. After you do it a few times it gets easier. If you have a hundred to do, you may want to consider the old fashioned kind and use a punch-down tool.

Product works great, does everything it claims.
