    Cat5E RJ-45 Toolless Keystone Jack - Orange

Easy to use, toolless (no soldering or screwdriver req.) modular CAT 5e Keystone jack. RJ45 female connector. To be used with keystone wall plate or panel. Wiring diagram on clip.
This product is intended for use with 23~24 AWG Solid Ethernet cable. It will not work well with stranded Ethernet cable. If you're using stranded Ethernet cable, please use a punch-down style keystone jack.

Note that the width of the RJ45 keystones is such that two cannot be used side-by-side in the same wall-plate.

Comes with lever for ease of installation and retaining clip for secure connection.

    Worked Like A Charm

Fit snugly into wall plate from Monoprice. Didn't need a tool to punch down the ethernet wires but I did need to trim the wires after getting them into the jack and squeezing the lid shut until it clicked was much easier with pliers than with my hands. I ordered 8 and all 8 worked perfectly. Having Ethernet going through the walls in my house looks so much cleaner now too. Thank you Monoprice for the amazing prices and fast shipping!

Pros: Installation is a snap (pun intended).
Wires are very secure and makes a positive connection.

    Cons: None

After many years of using traditional 110 punch-down keystone jacks, using this tooless connector is great.
Just follow the instructions. Layout the cables per desired A or B, close the cover, insert the leverage tool, apply force until you hear it snap into place and you’re done. Remove the leverage tool and you have a great finished terminated jack. Installation is a snap (pun intended).
Wires are very secure. Had to remove one from service because I needed to do change the wiring scheme to something nontraditional and the wires were difficult to remove. Meaning the connection was very sold.
And the final test passed a sweep test 100%

    Lousy connection

    Pros: Nice concept.

    Cons: Poor electrical connection.

Ordered these tooless jacks by mistake. Meant to order standard punch-down jacks. After several hours of messing around with 10 jacks I had four with acceptable electrical connections (negotiate 1Gbps and pass at least 900Mbps). Ordered traditional jacks (also from Monoprice) and had perfect connections the first time.

Sorry for the trouble with the Tooless Keystone Jack, normally these items work best with solid ethernet and not the regular stranded patch cable.

    Thank you.

The cable used was from a 1000' box of solid-core from Monoprice, so no worries there. The tooless jacks just don't seem to make quite as good a connection.

I would not recommend these. Several of the jacks didn't work, and after running around diagnosing my wiring, turned out that these jacks didn't have good connection. I have some other keyless keystone jacks that used 2 folding mechanisms that push the wires into the conductors which worked a lot better.

Sorry for the trouble with the toolless jacks, here is a reference guide that may help provide some insight.

    Thank you

    Works great

Works great so far - I did have to use a small flathead screwdriver to make sure the connection was snug. Although that defeats the purpose of it being "toolless," it would be something I would do anyway to rule out any connectivity issues with the jack.

I also preferred the design of these over the punch down versions because of the locking clasp - just a personal preference.

I also used stranded patch cable instead of solid (I ordered a couple of the 100 foot lengths) as this is just a small home network with longest run being around 35 feet and didn't need that much - this goes against Monoprices's recommendation of using solid, but everything so far is working great.

I have these hooked up to a Netgear GS108 switch which branches out to various jacks throughout the house (Xbox, Computers, U-Verse STBs) and everything works flawlessly so far.

Just an FYI - I'm using the wallplates that Monoprice sells for most of my setup, but I have a couple of 2-3 gang boxes that use the decora-style 6-port keystone plate. They will not go together side by side, so at most you will only be able to fit 3 keystones in a vertical fashion on this kind of wallplate - it was fine for me since i only needed to use 1 or two Cat5e jacks, with the rest being used for audio/video keystones (you may have to trim the side notches on these to make them fit with the Cat5e jacks).
