Pros: -spring loaded action
-multiple crimping options
-long padded handles for good leverage while crimping

I got this tool just before the holiday and only had a chance to use it once but its quality level exceeded expectations. I got it its crimping function however its design will also allow me to retire my aging splicing tool.

Pros: Solid tool that worked perfectly

Cons: None that I know of but I used this for a single installation of home theatre

Bought this with 12 AWG speaker wire for my home theatre installation. I didn't have a tool and noticed this was the one they used in some of their videos on banana plugs (which I also bought), and it was pretty inexpensive, so I bought it. And it worked great! Not sure how much I'll use it since it's not often I'm stripping wire. But solid tool that I'm sure I'll use again when the need arises.

Great, BUT...

Pros: Great value
Very practical

Cons: Wire gauge sizes not accurate
Inadequate directions

This is a great product for the money. Does the job and is solidly built. BUT...the wire gauge sizes are off. I had 16 AWG monoprice speaker wire and instead of stripping the wire I kept cutting THROUGH the wire, because I used the hole marked "16." 14 turned out to be much better. So experiment! Don't trust what the size on the tool reads.

ALSO! None of the instructional videos or the techs tell you the most helpful tip of all USE THE METAL LOOP! You stick the wire in the hole, then close the handles, then use the METAL LOOP to keep the handles closed while you hold the upper metal portion and yank off the sleeve. Presto! Exposed wires! Had to sacrifice 50 ft of wire to figure that out. :(

Still, once you get the hang of it this thing is awesome. If I can do it anyone can!
