    Dangerous Tool

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do perfectly.

    Cons: Incredibly dangerous design

We use tons of these for our company-they are incredibly handy for stripping cat5e/cat6 cable. The first thing I do when we get a batch of these is remove the "cut" blades (the ones towards the back of the tool)....they are positioned in such a way that they are likely to cut you while you are stripping, or while you are going to grab them from your tool bag. They also don't cut cables particularly well (a pair of linesman or diagonal cutting pliers works much better).

Well, right now I am typing this review with one hand because I forgot to take those blades out on one of these tools. I reached into my tool bag, and sure enough, this sliced right through my finger. It's happened to me and my techs before (ask me why I take the blades out), but never quite this bad (bad enough to inspire me to write this at 10PM).

All tools can be dangerous, of course....this one un-necessarily so. Requires some re-thinking. Do not buy unless you are careful to re-tool it.

    It broke

Pros: Worked great for stripping cat6 and speaker wire while it lasted.

Cons: Broke into 2 pieces when I tried to use the cutter today.

Good tool, needs to be more durable.

A Big Time Saver - Does The Job Well

    Pros: Great for cutting
    Great for stripping

Cons: Take some pressure for a good, clean cut.

I wired about 10 Cat6 runs in my house, and used this tool as I terminated the ends. It's very affordable, and does the job. My only small complaint is that it's not the greatest cutter in the world, because you have to give it some good pressure in order to get a solid cut.

    Great Stripper

Pros: Adjustable strip knife depth. Light and small.

Cons: Needs a lot of pressure to use the cutter portion.

Good stripper for the price. The adjustable blade is great for matching cable thickness. Cutter take a bit of pressure to use.

Used for stripping ethernet cable jackets

Pros: Works very well with cat6 cables, durable and handy tool

    Cons: None

Needed one for stripping the cable jackets off ethernet 6 cables. Works perfectly after adjusting thickness of the blade. After adjusting, place in the section of the cable that needs to be stripped off, turn a few times, and pull jacket off easily. Try not to turn too many times, otherwise the actual wires in the jacket will be cut, thus making bad connections.
