    Doesn't quite fit

Pros: It is very durable. It looks nice and is heavy, it looks like a high quality jack.

    It sorta works.

Cons: Well the sound quality is bad because it is very loose. My jack, which is a standard - SENNHEISER HD555 1/4" (6.3mm) just does not fit properly and is lose. This causes a CONSTANT white noise that is very distracting, and frankly unusable for any type of audio sensitive work.

This does not work well with SENNHEISER HD555 or any other 6.3mm jacks, which is standard for higher quality headphones. I've tried multiple headphone jacks and neither fit. it is lose and causes horrible white noise and frankly is unsable for anything other than just HEARING stuff, which it does do, just with a very annoying screechy noise attached to hearing everything.

I know for absolute sure it's because of how lose it is. I can slighly jiggle the jack and hear the noise change exactly the way/pattern I move it. No question it's this jack.

I would never buy this again and now do not know if I should buy from monoprice. I love them, but I can't trust their products to work the way they should be intended to work.

    Hi Michael,

My apologies for the fit issues experienced with PID 7165. Unfortunately, it appears as though you may have received a defective adapter. If you would like, I can help setup an RMA for a replacement. Obtaining the replacement would be of no additional cost to you. If you wanted to proceed with the RMA, please let me know and I will get that started. My apologies again for any inconvenience and I hope this helps!

    Pros: VERY CHEAP!

Cons: two of these broke off in my equipment

I've used Monoprice Cables for years. Very high quality, long lasting. Thought I'd try some of their other products. This adapter broke off in my camera.

    Hello,

Thank you for your review on PID 7165. Truly sorry to hear the adapter broke off in your equipment. If I may ask, did this occur with normal use? Also, if possible, can you send me pictures of the issue? Please email me the pictures at gabrielle.villa@monoprice.com so we can look into this matter further. My apologies again for any inconvenience and thank you in advance!

    Poor connection over time

Pros: It looks nice and professional

Cons: Loses connection with frequent handling

I use this adaptor to connect my iPod to my PA speakers or mixer. But after a few weeks the adaptor doesn't have a tight connection anymore. It doesn't even "click" when I connect the 1/4" cable. The sound constantly cuts out and I have to find a a good angle to leave the iPod. This item is No Bueno. I would not recommend this one but get PID 7131 instead. So far it seems pretty solid. But I'll update my review after I use it for now.

    Hi Rich,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about your experience with PID 7165. We do offer a 30 day return policy as well as a one year warranty on this item. If you would like, I can assist you in setting up an RMA for a replacement, which will be of no additional cost.

Also keep in mind that PID 7131 is 3.5mm stereo to 1/4" mono. If you intend to keep it stereo to stereo I would recommend PID 7135 as an alternative to PID 7165:

    This Thing IS Solid

Pros: IT seems to be thick enough to withstand the weight or heavy cable hanging off the other end of it.

    Cons: none

I give this a 5 out of 5. I resists bending and with an adapter, besides giving great audio quality, that is the only other thing that truly matters.
