    Working, but..

    Pros: - Works great
    - Good looking and nice build quality

Cons: - Too big to actually fit through the hole in my cellphone case. While I thought this could do the trick, it is still too big.

Build quality is great but the fit isn't. More research wouldn't help me as this adapter seems small enough, but isn't.

    Not for phone cases!

    Pros: Works well.

Cons: Not meant for the use people keep buying it for which is why it often doesn't work for that.

This works well if you're not buying it just because your aux cord's connector is too thick to get through your phone case. This product is not much thinner at all than the end of the average aux cord. Buy one of Monoprice's FLAT 3.5mm audio cables instead! Those have much thinner connectors, even thinner than the "made for mobile" cables.

Perfect For A Very Specific Purpose: Aux jack in car without removing iPhone case

Pros: Does what it says on the tin.
    Quality metal used.
    Tight tolerances and good manufacturing.
    Excellent price.
Only adapter I've found with the riser at the base necessary to clear my iPhone case.

    Cons: None

I have a CaseCrown Bonbons Glider Case for my iPhone 5s. Before that, I've had two other cases from two other brands. They've all suffered from the same problem: namely normal 3.5mm stereo plugs are too wide at the base to allow full insertion.

This adapter solves this problem because of the small little riser where the plug meets the base. This riser allows the plug to fully insert into the headphone jack and still clear the case.

Photo doesn't match the new version, won't fit most mobile cases

    Pros: Gold plating

Cons: Product has had a small design change since my 1st order in 2012 which makes it unusable with mobile cases/shells. Product photo still shows the old design. See below.

As previous reviewers Charles C, Rock and CJM reported, the product photo shown here doesn't match the more recent production of PID 7161.
I bought this PID for the first time in 2012 that unit does match the photo, which shows a longer "neck" inbetween the 3.5mm pin connection and the serrated body that you grab with your fingers. That longer neck allows the adaptor to clear the thickness of your mobile case or shell.

I wanted to order several others in 2014 based on this capacity to fit mobile cases. I did see the reviews reporting a possible design change. Thus I inquired to Customer Support who confirmed that there hadn't any change in design and that the product still matched the photo.
So I ordered some new ones and guess what, other reviewers were RIGHT. The new ones are different and they do not fit mobiles cases anymore.
The imgur photo that reviewer Charles C's linked in his review describes exactly the problem.

Disappointing. Monoprice, please change the product photo or if it is indeed not supposed to be a design change, then please fix your manufacturing quality control !

    Pros: Price

    Cons: None

Bought this for my car's AUX port. I use an HTC clip to wirelessly connect my phone to my car and it wouldn't fit so I needed something to extend the port. I bought the plastic kind (PID 7130) but I started to get a little bit of interference and sound loss so I bought one of these and it fixed the problem. Very great for the price.
