Great way to convert optical to coaxial
Bought this because my Philips soundbar only had a coaxial audio input and my PS3 had an optical toslink output. Hooked it up in 30 seconds and wahla! Worked great. Audio from the soundbar, via the PS3, is great. Make sure you get the correct input/output device. It would not have worked if I got the coaxial input and toslink output. I have noticed that both directional devices are available, so choose the correct direction of your conversion.

PROS: Works great. Now my LED TV (Toslink) and my Entertainment System (Coax) works. Able to amplify the volume without and issue.

CONS: It would be great if they have a 110 to 240V power adaptor.

The shipping was prompt. Product arrived in excellent condition. Product works fine. Initial observations indicate that product is high quality. Price is very low. I didn't expect to get such high quality at a very low price.

    Just what I needed
I needed this to hook up a new Samsung tv that only had digital audio out to a Philips soundbar subwoofer that only has coaxial digital input. Hooked it up and it works great! Sound is so much better now rather than the RCA audio I had to use before this.

PROS: Worked great for me, allowing us digital surround sound from a 2nd source (satellite & HTPC) w/o having to replace existing Audio Video Receiver. Very low power: description says wall wart is 3000ma...it's actually 300ma, which I'm sure is plenty based on the Converter operating cool-to-the-touch.

CONS: Not the product's fault, but it the extra cable + wall wart added to the "rat's nest" behind entertainment center...Then when satellite digital audio went out temporarily, I thought it was the new converter.

Works Great- Panasonic Blu Ray Player
Using this to convert the optical digital out of my Panasonic Blu Ray player to coaxial digital so I could use the Monoprice 4 Port Component Video Switch w/ IR Learning. Using multiple devices and needed coaxial digital to be able to use the switch. Using the Monoprice 4 Port Component Video Switch w/ IR Learning switch for the digital switch input/output as well as switching my multiple subwoofers between devices simultaneously.

Worked perfectly out of the box. No audio delay, signal loss, just plain works!

Always happy with Monoprice excellent prices, great customer service and quick shipping!

Does require AC power and comes with the adapter but no optical cable, but they are cheap so no big deal.

    Thanks again Monoprice!

PROS: Great price, small size, works perfect!, No signal loss or audio delay.

CONS: None. Doesn't come with an optical cable, just AC adapter.
