    Pros: none

    Cons: design and manufacture

product didn't work out of the box- dial will not rotate- worthless

    by Monoprice Administrator
    Hello Bill,

Thank you for your feedback and my apologies for the delayed response. In order to rotate the dial, you will need to depress the release button. There is a plunger style button on the end of the bar on the dial of the switch. Please try pressing the button and turning the dial until it clicks into the desired position. Sorry again for the trouble and I hope this helps!

Pros: Very low cost for what it does.
3 in and 1 out or 1 in 3 out. Just a mechanical switch.
    Cables fit tight and secure

    Cons: Plastics constriction.
Possible easy to damage if handled wrecklessly

This product had some bad reviews on construction quality. For the price, I thought "why not give it a try". I purchased it to use as a 3 in 1 out for my Resound "TV Streamer" hearing aid accessory. I think I would have preferred paying a little more for a sturdier product, however, I have not had any problems with this unit. Given the previous reviews, I operate this unit more cautiously than I would have otherwise. It is plastics construction, but seems to operate without problems, Be sure to engage the spring loaded lock before trying to turn. Wait for the 'detent' and release.. Simple as that. I don't know why this won't last a very long time.

    Pros: Performance, price

    Cons: Poor tactile feel

It worked fine out of the box, but didn't feel right. So a few screws and a light lube, it feels much better. The release button on the top of the lever, would be more ergonomic if you were squeezing it from the sides. Once released from its locked position and moved just a little bit, it will snap back when it is at its next position. A great solution to my infrequent optical sound switching needs.

Pros: - The simplest thing that could possibly work
    - Doesn't require power, since it's purely mechanical
    - Price point is low enough that if it breaks I won't be sad

Cons: - Build quality is exactly what you'd expect in a $6 device
    - Takes close attention to get the lever into position
    - Colour scheme is ugly as sin
    - Will be lucky to survive 100-200 actuations before the mechanism jams up or fails entirely

This thing is literally a couple of mirrors and lenses, which as luck would have it, is just enough to get the job done. No fancy remote controls here. It does exactly what I need it to do for now.

Getting the lever into position requires a lot of fiddling so much so that my husband would rather just use the TV speakers two times out of three (the philistine).

I would 100% NOT recommend this device as a permanent solution. I'm only planning to use it for the next year or so, until I get a modern receiver.

Cons: Doesn't last, even with moderate use. Not very durable.

Worked fine until a few weeks after the warrant expired!
