5 PAIRS OF High-Quality Gold Plated Speaker Banana Plugs, Open Screw Type

Banana plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers that use traditional binding posts. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.

These high quality plugs are the open screw type and can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

The plug body is made of brass, which is then plated with gold to help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth connections.

This multi-pack includes five pairs of plugs, perfect for connecting the satellite and center channel speakers in a 5.1 channel setup.

    Features:

    • Can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs
    • Can accept 12 to 18 AWG speaker wires
    • Color coded black/red rings for maintaining proper polarity
    • Secure, positive contact with binding posts
    • Corrosion resistant, 24K gold plated brass plug
    • Each order includes FIVE pairs (10 plugs total)

The following video shows the differences between the various types of banana plugs and includes a demonstration of how to install each type.

Pros: Price is right for the quality. Highly utilitarian.

Cons: Quality - not terrible, but not prime.A1 audiophile expensive farkle.

I have purchased these many times over the years because they work and are a good value. Not the highest quality, but priced appropriately. Will buy again.

Pros: attractive, solid, easy to use

Cons: careful trimming required so that correct length of wire is inserted so that adjacent wires don't touch

So much easier to connect speakers to receiver or amp with these instead of trying to handle wires.

    Fabulous Bargain

Pros: Gold plated for excellent connection and no corrosion or discoloration. Good quality construction.

Cons: I have bought and used quite a few of these. Sometimes you get one with rough threads. It will still be very usable just not as smooth when tightening it up.

For the price these connectors can' be beat. They are not the best connector ever but are certainly a very good one and at this price for a quality part you get way more for your money than anything else out there.

Look good, but lacking in real usefulness

Pros: Look decent (nice and shiny)

Cons: Gap left when screwed down is just too much - making plugs minimally useful

We have a couple "add-on" systems in side rooms and when I saw these on sale I thought I'd try a set to see if they'd help solidify the final stuff (connections, etc.). These banana plugs look OK, but as others have stated there really is quite a gap left even when they are screwed down all the way. That's not an absolute show-=stopper if you used 12AWG or thicker wire but if you use anything less the connection just does not inspire confidence. They're OK at the sale price and for a secondary system but that's about it.
