5 PAIRS OF High-Quality Gold Plated Speaker Banana Plugs, Open Screw Type

Banana plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers that use traditional binding posts. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.

These high quality plugs are the open screw type and can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

The plug body is made of brass, which is then plated with gold to help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth connections.

This multi-pack includes five pairs of plugs, perfect for connecting the satellite and center channel speakers in a 5.1 channel setup.

    • Can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs
    • Can accept 12 to 18 AWG speaker wires
    • Color coded black/red rings for maintaining proper polarity
    • Secure, positive contact with binding posts
    • Corrosion resistant, 24K gold plated brass plug
    • Each order includes FIVE pairs (10 plugs total)

The following video shows the differences between the various types of banana plugs and includes a demonstration of how to install each type.

    No Lip on Collar

    Pros: Solid construction
    Good looking

Cons: Traditional rear collar mount is tricky

Unlike most closed screw type banana plugs, these do not have a lip on the collar- the threads go all the way to the top. This makes a traditional rear mount tricky as when you fan the wire strands out over the top of the collar, they fold backward on the threads and prevent tightening. To circumvent this, you have to leave the collar in the sleeve, insert the wire and try to fan the strands out through the side openings, then tighten.

So this open screw type is great for "T" connections (wire inserted through the side), but not very good for rear connections... Unless I'm an idiot and have overlooked a simple solution.

    Pros: None

Cons: They do not stay with 16 gauge wire. I spent hours trying to tighten them enough but they would always come out. This is worse than nothing. I will be returning these

Don't buy these unless you like wasting your time

Thank you for your review on PID 9437. My apologies for the inconvenient experience you have faced while using these banana plugs. If I may ask, is this occurring with all five pairs of banana plugs? Is there any difference when using the side opening vs the rear? Also, do you happen to have the order number for this purchase? Please let me know so we can investigate this matter further. Thank you!

For putting the wire through the rear end, it would be the same as a closed screw banana plug. First strip the ends of the wires by about an inch. Next unscrew the plug by turning the head of the screw at the base. Insert the wire through the rear of the screw and fan out the strands a bit over the lip. Finally, put the screw back into the plug and tighten.

When using the side opening, you would start off by stripping the ends of the wires by an inch still. Next step would be to unscrew the plug enough so there is a gap in the center for the wire. Insert the bare wire through the center of the gap then tighten the screw onto the strands. Finally, cut off any excess strands coming out of the other side of the plug if they are too long.

Regarding returning the order, I would be unable to do so if purchased within the past 30 days due to Amazon's third-party selling rules. In order to proceed, you would need to request the return through Amazon directly. To do so, please log into your Amazon account and view your order history. Once you have located the affected order, please request a return then briefly specify your issues with the plugs and include that you would prefer a refund.

I am truly sorry for any inconvenience and I hope this helps.
