1 PAIR OF High-Quality Gold Plated Speaker Pin Plugs, Pin Crimp Type (Heavy Duty)

Pin plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers fitted with either traditional binding posts or spring clip connectors. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.

These high quality plugs are the screw lock type and can accept bare wire only. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

The plug body is made of brass, which is then plated with gold to help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth connections.

  • Can accept bare wire only
  • Can accept 12 to 18 AWG speaker wires
  • Grooved pins prevent slippage
  • Color coded black/red rings for maintaining proper polarity
  • Secure, positive contact with binding posts
  • Corrosion resistant, 24K gold plated brass plug
  • Each order includes ONE pair (2 plugs total)

The following video shows the differences between the various types of banana plugs and includes a demonstration of how to install each type.

Pros: Easy to install
Solid connection to speaker
Great price and speedy delivery

Cons: None

Great product which eliminated the cumbersome wire-wrap or spade-connecter problem. Will order screw-type connector next time since I found them easier to connect to speaker wire.

Plug way to wide

Pros: The plugs feel quality-made. They are very pretty too.

Cons: -5 points : The diameter is too wide for the spring connectors I have. If left as-is, the plugs will touch over time and create a short-circuit. Which means that I need to insulate them. Which means that it becomes ugly.
-1 points : Why do the pin can be unscrewed from the body? This is making it confusing. Also, there is no guide on how to plug them. And I didn't find any other guide for the pin crimp type, where it is banana plug or pin plug.

The product is good, as long as you don't need them close together or don't mind insulating them.

Hello Gabriel,

Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues you have experienced with PID 5977. A shame these didn't work out too well for your needs.. If you no longer have a need for them, I can help setup an RMA for a return. If you would like me to proceed with the RMA, just let me know and I can get this started right away. Sorry again for the trouble and hope this helps!

I had already asked for a RMA and received one. However, since I only bought 2 pairs and the shipping costs 4$, on an order worth like 7$, I prefer to just keep them.

Customer service is top-notch tho. I already ordered the 5975 to replace. And those, I'm mentally prepared to put heat shrink on them xD

Pros: Very cool, handy. Great design

Cons: Slightly too large for my posts.

Slightly too big for the binding posts in all my gear (a receiver, some studio monitors, some floor speakers) I feel like they would damage the posts. All of the gear I have with binding posts does have unusually small binding posts though, I think most other high end gear out there probably tends to have slightly larger binding posts

Worked well, once I got them on

Pros: Great quality
Very fair price

Cons: Uncertainty on installation

I have an old Sony amp that has spring clip connectors. I was so tired of trying to jam the wire into the connector at the rear of the amp while I was trying to do it from the front of the amp (since the amp is on a 'tight' shelving unit that didn't easily allow me to get to the back of it). I finally got smart and found a better way, by installing these plugs. Now I can easily pop them in and they stay connected! My biggest frustration was with not being sure why the pin side unscrews. I'm not an audio plug expert by any means. I found a tiny screwdriver that would allow me to open up the crimp chamber, insert the wires, and crimp them back down with the screwdriver. But I wasn't sure why the entire plug unscrews into two pieces? Oh well. They work fine, and that's what matters. It would be nice if the video from Monoprice had a specific instruction on these types of plugs for those of us who are 'plug-challenged'.
