1 PAIR OF High-Quality Gold Plated Speaker Pin Plugs, Pin Screw Type

Pin plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers fitted with either traditional binding posts or spring clip connectors. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.

These high quality plugs are the open screw type and can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

The plug body is made of brass, which is then plated with gold to help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth connections.

    • Can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs
    • Can accept 12 to 18 AWG speaker wires
    • Grooved pins prevent slippage
    • Color coded black/red rings for maintaining proper polarity
    • Secure, positive contact with binding posts
    • Corrosion resistant, 24K gold plated brass plug
    • Each order includes ONE pair (2 plugs total)

The following video shows the differences between the various types of banana plugs and includes a demonstration of how to install each type.

Pretty, but the outer shell is conductive

    Pros: Good build quality
    Easy to put together.

Cons: Constantly shorting the speaker, basically useless.

These look nice, and assembly is fairly easy, but if the two connectors touch behind the speaker it shorts the connection. Might as well just use bare wire. These should really have plastic or rubber grips on them.

Speaker Pin Plugs, Closed Screw Type

Pros: Easy to assemble, very effective

Cons: The housing itself is somewhat large and when you insert the pins into the receiver, they tend to move a little closer together. If they move enough (say when pushing your receiver back on the shelf), the pins touch and distort the audio.

These are great. Easy to put together and I particularly liked that there are several notches in the pin that allow for different depths when plugging them into my receiver. It only took minutes to assemble 8 pairs of these.

Not a universal fit ... unstable and causes shorts.

    Pros: *They're pretty enough
*Cheap enough so not worth the RMA

Cons: *Not universal/doesn't go into my Klipsch speaker clips well enough
*Couple the above with the conducting shells and you are guaranteed that at some point the speakers will short given minor movement
**Shouldn't have to wrap them in electrical wire to have to use them!

These connectors don't really fit my Klipsch home theater speakers. Even if I cut most of the tip off like one of the other reviewers had mentioned, the connectors still wiggle around and can hit eachother if the speaker moves (earthquakes, cat havoc, etc).

    Unfortunate Design

As with PID 5977, these plugs can easily short the signal by touching together, which is quite likely with these kinds of connectors if there is tension on the cable.
