1 PAIR OF High-Quality Gold Plated Speaker Banana Plugs, Open Screw Type

Banana plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers that use traditional binding posts. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.

These high quality plugs are the open screw type and can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

The plug body is made of brass, which is then plated with gold to help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth connections.

    • Can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs
    • Can accept 12 to 18 AWG speaker wires
    • Color coded black/red rings for maintaining proper polarity
    • Secure, positive contact with binding posts
    • Corrosion resistant, 24K gold plated brass plug
    • Each order includes ONE pair (2 plugs total)

The video below shows the differences between the various types of banana plugs and includes a demonstration of how to install each type.

    How do they do it?

Pros: Was able to insert the insulation of the 14 gauge Monoprice OFC speaker wire in the end and bring the stripped conductor out the side.

If the package were to have the Monster brand on it these would cost over $10.

Good Banana Plugs, With One Caveat

    Pros: Nice plugs
    Side entry
Snug fit into amp and speakers

Cons: 14 AWG wire not fully secured without removing the color coded washers.

The plugs are nice, but didn't initially secure 14AWG wire very well. I found, as others reviewers have too, that if I removed the color coded washer, I was able screw down the wire securely. Great plugs otherwise. I'd imagine a thicker gauge wire would not have any issues with the washers on. If it weren't for the washer issue, they'd be a 5 star plug.

    Nice plugs

    Pros: Great value
Easy to connect to speaker wire

This was my first time using banana plugs. My old receiver had clip catches for the bare speaker wire, but my new Sony receiver required a plug. These did the job nicely and were easy to connect to the speaker wire.

Good banana plugs of this type

Pros: Inexpensive, gets the job done, quick to connect wire to plug.

Cons: I used 16AWG OFC wire by Rocketfish, I could not get the wire up through the center of the plug, finding that the jacket for the wire was too thick. So I inserted the wire in the side and screwed down upon the wire. This clamp-type of mechanism is tenuous at best, sometimes just moving the cable into position I found that the wire pulled a bit out of the clamping screw.

Perhaps 14AWG or 12AWG wire would've worked better?

This is my first time using these, and while I think they worked as intended, I find that I'm not very fond of the connection method in attaching the speaker wire to the plug. I am rating this 5 stars because my dislike for the mechanism is not a fault in the product.

Pros: Look great, well made, easy to use.

    Cons: Nada.

Great price and quality. Just put your cables in, screw them down, and push the banana into the connectorzzz! SO GEWD!
