Do not purchase: This cable will quickly stop to work

Pros: None, since it won't work after a few hours of usage.

Cons: The micro-USB connector on this cable is very cheap and will quickly stop working.

I purchased a handful of those micro-usb cables on DX, but most of them didn't work right out of the box. From DX, those things are to be expected, so I decided to spend a little more and purchase another batch of micro-USB cables from Monoprice. I have purchased thousands of cables from Monoprice (mostly network, but also RCA, USB, stereo, HDMI, etc.) and have been mostly satisfied, especially for the price.

However, THIS USB Cable is a NO GO. First, they had the exact same "plastic housing" molding on the micro-usb side of the cable as the ones I got from DX. I also got the same results, after only a few days, all/most of my cable STOPPED working. I'd connect my cell phone, and it wouldn't be fully charged the next morning. Investigating a little more, I'd say that the connector is designed a little bit too thin, and it means that quite often all the pins don't connect properly with the phone's connector. More importantly, over time (not that much), the connector becomes loose, and it will stop working. This has happened to ALL of the micro-usb cables I purchased at Monoprice. It has happened to NONE of the "original cables" that I received with my Nexus, Samsung, LG, Kobo devices. This is clearly a matter of quality of the product.

Don't be cheap, don't purchase this product in its current form, it WILL fait.

Hi Luigi,

My apologies for the experience you have faced with our Micro USB cables. I will pass this along to our product team for further review. For now, if you are still within the 30-day return period, I can assist you in setting up a refund. Or, if outside the return period, I can setup the RMA for replacements instead. Obtaining the replacements would be of no additional cost to you as we will cover shipping. If you would like to proceed, please provide the order numbers for the cables along with your preference on returning or replacing the cables. Sorry again for all the trouble and thank you for your feedback.

Come on... These do not fit micro-USB plugs

Pros: Smaller molded ends than their much-better ferrite-coiled white cables.

Cons: Uniformly, the micro-USB end is smaller than OEM and Monoprice's own white cables. When plugged into a micro-USB port on Samsung, LG, Kyocera, Sony, Nokia, Sharp and a few other off brands (like Blu, verykool, Coolpad)

I bought these because, for charging purposes, I did not need ferrite coil protection. No data was to travel on these cables, it was only for voltage. They were loose on all of our phones. Since the phones were older, I let it pass. In the month leading to this review, I've gotten three new cell phones. THESE ENDS ARE LOOSE ON EVERY ONE OF THEM. Monoprice has been aware of the issue AND HAS DONE NOTHING to fix it.

Moral of the story: Don't buy this, Monoprice quality is not included at this price point.

Pros: It works fine

Cons: None

Just buy a bunch of these. I have better things to do with my life than hunt for USB cables, so I have bought a bunch of these and keep them plugged into all the computers in the house and the USB chargers in the cars so I can always find a cable to charge phones and such.

Pros: Low price. Short length. Works!!

Cons: None

I keep one of these in my handbag, so I like that it is short. It works too, which is always good. Cannot beat the price.

Pros: Substantial and well made cables. No "play" in the connections.

Would recommend these cables for short connections. Would recommend all cables from Monoprice. Have all lengths and have never had a failure. The minimal price differences between Monoprice and cheap cables make the value of good cables a good buy.
