32ft 10M USB 2.0 A Male to A Female Active Extension / Repeater Cable (Kinect & PS3 Move Compatible Extension)

Due to its design, USB cable has a normal maximum length of about 5 meters (16.4 feet), but you can get longer distances by using an Active USB Extension/Repeater Cable from Monoprice!

This is a bus-powered extension cable that can be used to increase the length of a device without any signal loss or potential performance problems. It contains active electronics, which boost the USB signal for maximum reliability and performance over extended distances. The cable operates as self-powered extender, for use with USB cameras‚ printers‚ webcams‚ keyboard/mouse, etc.

It is a true plug-and-play device. No additional drivers are required. It supports Win98/2000/XP/Vista/7, Mac OS V9.0 or higher, and Linux. It can also be used with many types of USB devices, including the Xbox Kinect* and the Eye of the PS3 Move!

    *Important notes for Kinect users:

    1. You can use this cable to connect the USB version of the Kinect only. It is not compatible with the proprietary Kinect connector. If you have a Kinect connector, please use PID 8487.

    2. The Kinect requires more power than traditional USB ports are capable of providing. In order to prevent damage to equipment, Microsoft has designed the Kinect with a proprietary connector. If your Kinect did not come with a USB/Power adapter, you must purchase one from Microsoft before you can use this extension cable.

    Pros: Price

Cons: May not support older USB 1.1 devices

I have a legacy dot matrix printer with only a parrallel port to connect to my PC. I have been using a Parrallel to USB adapter, but that was limited on the length of the USB extension cable. I tried this cable but just could not get the printer to function properly. This might be due to USB 1.1/2.0 specifications. I did get my printer to work using USB over CAT-5 http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030313&p_id=6042&seq=1&format=2

Not 100% compatible with Xbox One controller

    Pros: Lenght

Cons: Not compatible with xbox one controllers

Xbox one controller will connect and work with the cable. The issues is as soon as rumble feedback kicks in the controller will disconnect.
If the game has no feedback or you can disable it then you should be fine.

Pros: Easy to find great price works perfectly

I got this cable so I could sit at my computer and control my Canon camera that was set up 25 feet away (with the EOS software). It works perfectly. Also, the cable wasn't difficult to locate on the website, and I think the price is excellent. All in all, I got a good deal.

    Pros: Long durable cable
    snug fittings
works for most things I used it for

Cons: Doesn't work well with my wifi adapter
Really thick cable (see Pro: Durable)

I bought this to use with a WiFi adapter but I get constant disconnects using it. So it doesn't work for what I wanted it to do.
That being said I've used it with a 4 port hub with cameras and a xbox controller and it works perfectly for those. I guess 30ft is just too long for a wifi adapter. Looks like a quality product I will have in my arsenal for years otherwise. For what I paid for it I will keep it.

    Low Output Power Results

    Pros: Sturdy seeming cable

Cons: Not enough power (at least on my LIVA's 2.0 or 3.0 port) to run an xbox 360 controller with rumble on

Ran my cable along the wall and behind some furniture so I don't pull my little mini-pc down and so when company is over we can all reach usb ports. I have on order a powered usb hub but I tried plugging in a 360 controller and playing off the cable but whenever the game would send a rumble command the controller would disconnect.
Since the cable itself is a one port USB hub there just isn't enough output to power those little motors. When I get a powered USB hub I suspect these problems will go away. I'll follow up if not.
