    • High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™

Note that Active HDMI cables are directional. Check each end for markings indicating whether it should be connected to the source or the display device. Connecting them backwards will not hurt anything, they just won't work until connected properly.

Note also that only one Active HDMI cable should be present in any single cable run, even if using a switch, splitter, or matrix. Connecting multiple active HDMI cables in series will cause them to fail to reliably transmit the video signal because each is trying to do the same thing.

    4k@60hz Fails

Pros: Nice flexible works well for 4k@30hz and 1080p

Cons: Not 18gbps or 4k@60hz compatible

I have a GTX970 and a Seiki SE42UGT 4k TV. With this cable I can only do 4k@30hz (HDMI 1.3/1.4 10gbps) not 4k@60hz. When I switch to a different cable and change nothing else I am able to get 4k@60hz. I really wanted a nice thin flexible cable but this is not it.

    Hello Ryan,

Thank you for your review and sorry to hear of the issues you have experienced with PID 11183. If I may ask, was the other HDMI cable you used also an Active HDMI cable with Redmere? If there is an update on the graphics card I would recommend updating the drivers to see if it helps with the issue. Please let me know how it goes. Also, if you are would like, I can set up an RMA for a replacement if you would like to try another or I can set up for a refund. Let me know and I can help in getting that set up.

The other HDMI cable I used was PID 9305. Which is a passive cable. Graphics card drivers are fully up to date. I could understand if the active cable didn't work at all like if the video card didn't provide enough power for the active electronics to work but the fact that it works at 4k30hz but not 4k60hz is weird if the cable truely is capable of it.

Gotcha, I did some more digging on information on the TV. I had seen that the TV has the option to change between HDMI 1.4a to HDMI 2.0. Also, apparently when feeding a 4K picture it defaults to 30hz/1.4a. Try going into the settings on the TV. Go to Setup -> System -> Other Settings -> HDMI EDID and change it from 1.4 to 2.0. I hope this helps.

Looks like you have been to the overclock.net forums. I am the one that posted those instructions. That is not the issue. To get 4k@60hz the only thing I did was switch cables from this one to PID 9305. No settings changes. Nothing else.

Gotcha, Yeah that came up in my searching. It sounds like it could be a compatibility issue or it could possibly be a defective cable. If you use the cable on another 4K source, if you have one, to try outputting 4K at 60Hz does it work properly? If you would like I can set up an RMA for a refund or replacement depending on what you wish. Just let me know and I can set that up.

Pros: Color coding makes keeping track of which goes where a snap with my home entertainment system. Service and price have been top notch.

    Cons: Absolutely none.

This is the third HDMI cable I've purchased from Monoprice. Quality and performance are outstanding.

    Hi John,

Truly sorry to hear about your experience with PID 11183. Can you describe your setup including all devices and cables in use? PID 11183 will only transmit 4k @ 60Hz if everything in your setup supports 4k @ 60Hz, otherwise it will transmit at the resolution and refresh rate the source device is capable of. Can you verify that everything in your setup supports 4k @ 60Hz? Thank you!

Pros: build quality is excellent, works exactly as expected. tiny light flexible cables help a great deal, releaving stress on HDMI connectors.

Cons: braided sheathing takes a bit away from the flexibility, redmere cables by design are unidirectional, so pay attention to the source and TV labels!

I replaced all of my HDMI cables with redmere, working perfectly! It might even help do the HDMI sync quicker. I have not done proper testing but so far it seems to be more "stable" than before the swap out.
