Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology, 50ft

Reliably connect your home theater equipment to greater distances than with passive cables using this Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology from Monoprice!

This High Speed HDMI Cable supports the following general features:

    • Active signal regeneration to ensure accurate reproduction over longer distances
    • 10.2Gbps data throughput
    • CL2 in-wall fire safety rating
    • 28AWG copper conductors
    • Gold plated connectors

It supports the following HDMI features:

    • 1080p resolution at 60Hz
    • 4K resolution at 24Hz
    • 3D video
    • HDMI Ethernet Channel
    • Audio Return Channel
    • Deep Color up to 16-bits per channel
    • x.v.Color™
    • High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™

Note that Active HDMI cables are directional. Check each end for markings indicating whether it should be connected to the source or the display device. Connecting them backwards will not hurt anything, they just won't work until connected properly.

Note also that only one Active HDMI cable should be present in any single cable run, even if using a switch, splitter, or matrix. Connecting multiple active HDMI cables in series will cause them to fail to reliably transmit the video signal because each is trying to do the same thing.

TIP: It is a good idea to test cables and connections before installing them inside a wall. If there are any issues or problems, we can help you resolve them before you spend the time, effort, and expense of installing them inside the walls.

Quality performance in a modest-sized profile

Pros: No signal loss, no bulky ferrite cores, flexible

Cons: None that I can think of.

I'm using a pair of these 50 footers coming off a splitter with no signal loss - and that's after a 15 foot run from the display source to a Monoprice 7522 Pro Series 1 x 2 splitter. The directions say not to use more than one RedMere cable in a circuit, but I'm sure that means not to run more than one of them end to end. In my setup, I'm going 15 feet to the powered splitter with a non-RedMere cable, then going with RedMere from the splitter in each of two branches. I like the fact that there's no bulky ferrite cores on this cable, and the it's somewhat flexible.

    Fully Functional

    Pros: Flexible
    True 1080p
    Active/Boosted Signal

    Cons: None so far.

I was somewhat trepidatious about ordering this cable based on the previous reviews, but I decided to take a gamble and get it. I've had this cable for a few weeks now and it's working like a dream. I'm still concerned that it might have a short lifespan as indicated by some of the other reviewers, but so far it's been a great cable with fabulous flexibility at a totally reasonable value. I would recommend this cable for sure.

    Not perfect

    Pros: Good heavy duty cable.

Cons: Won't do full 1080p like it is supposed to do.

Bought this 50 ft. HDMI cable to send a blu-ray signal to an Epson projector. Everything was fine for the first 4 minutes of the movie, then the picture froze. This happened 3 times. I had to change the Panasonic blu-ray player to send 1080i instead of 1080p. And yes it is connected the right direction.

great cable for 4 years, now busted

Had this cable for 4 years to push PC output to a TV 50 feet away, worked great, survived through many moves. However, one day suddenly it stopped working. The receive end gets warm, hardware detects cable connection but no signal ever comes out. I think the active tech inside the cable got fried, possibly by static as I've noticed occasional sparking when connecting/disconnecting.

    No Signal

    Pros: None?

    Cons: Doesn't push the signal.

I bought this almost 2 years ago and didn't actually use it until recently. I'm sad to say, I cannot get a signal after running it to my projector.
I have it connected to a Denon S910DW and have also tried it attached directly to an Intel NUC as well as my Mac Laptop.
The Mac detects my projector, but won't get the screen to come up.
I guess 50ft is just too long.
