Ultra Slim Active High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology, 3ft Red

Reliably connect your home theater equipment to greater distances than with passive cables using this Ultra Slim Active High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology from Monoprice!

This High Speed HDMI Cable supports the following general features:

    • Active signal regeneration to ensure accurate reproduction over longer distances
    • 10.2Gbps data throughput
    • Connector heads measure only 0.6" x 0.3" (17 x 7 mm)
    • Tooled polycarbonate connector heads with Zinc alloy shielding
    • 36AWG copper conductors
    • Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) jacket for superior durability
    • Gold plated connectors

It supports the following HDMI features:

    • 1080p resolution at 60Hz
    • 4K resolution at 24Hz
    • 3D video
    • HDMI Ethernet Channel
    • Audio Return Channel
    • Deep Color up to 16-bits per channel
    • x.v.Color™
    • High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™

Note that Active HDMI cables are directional. Check each end for markings indicating whether it should be connected to the source or the display device. Connecting them backwards will not hurt anything, they just won't work until connected properly.

Note also that only one Active HDMI cable should be present in any single cable run, even if using a switch, splitter, or matrix. Connecting multiple active HDMI cables in series will cause them to fail to reliably transmit the video signal because each is trying to do the same thing.

    works when other cables won't

    Pros: Super reliable signal
    Flexible, cable

Cons: Asymmetric cable, only goes one way. But the plug ends are different sizes so you can tell them apart easily.

The packaging is a bit over the top, but the cable is great. I was able to use this cable (and other redmere cables) in an application that other cables simply could not handle. I have some HDMI equipment with very sensitive (probably substandard) tolerances. Even over a very short distance, 4 out of 6 types of cables I've tried do not carry the signal at all, and a 5th cable carries it quite unreliably. The three redmere cables (3 ft, 10ft and 25ft) I tried all carry a rock-solid signal.

If you run into a situation where the HDMI signal isn't reliable, try this cable. If it doesn't work, nothing will.

    quality lightweight/flexible HDMI cable

Pros: lightweight, flexible, good price:performance ratio

Cons: no multicolor pack available, very minor: directionality makes user mis-install very easy.

I have a 6in/2out HDMI Onkyo Home Theater receiver, and I noticed the HDMI socket board was starting to sag after a few months using ordinary thick cables. I know that over time this would lead to circuit failure as stress slowly caused micro-fractures in the traces/connections and killed the HDMI board way before its time. (My last Onk lasted ~15years). So, I bought a bunch of monoprice’s ultra thin cables including a few Redmere cables & replaced 5 of the 8 cables. The board no longer sags under the weight because these cables are vey flexible & lightweight.
They are just as good as ultrathin cables you could buy on amazon or at a Best Buy, but are about 1/4 the cost. I only wish they offered a multipack of different colors so I didn’t have to order 1 or each color separate.
(note this review appears multiple times on different lengths because they’re fundamentally the same — and yes I bought this specific cable)

This one I accidentally plugged in the wrong direction, but quickly realized it. So, I can’t knock the product, but will list the ease at which even tech savvy people can make this as a very minor con.

    Another great Monoprice product

Pros: Thin, lightweight, very flexible, great price, connectors are compact yet solid, available in several colors

    Cons: None

I bought these to replace the HDMI cables connecting my Tivo Roamio and Sony Blu-Ray player to my Sony soundbar unit, and the soundbar to my Samsung TV. They work flawlessly, and there seems to be much less stress on the HDMI ports now that the weight and stiffness of the cables is greatly reduced.

I've seen other comments here about not being able to use these cables from soundbar to TV, but it's worked fine for me. I think any problems others are having may be due to running the cable in the wrong direction.

I got these in several colors so that it's easier to trace the cables from different components to the soundbar.

My runs are fairly short (3 feet from components to soundbar, 6 feet from soundbar to TV), so I don't really need Redmere's distance technology, but I wanted their light weight and flexibility.

Well worth the slight premium you pay over standard HDMI cables, especially when you see what others charge for their Redmere cables.
