Ultra Slim Active High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology, 3ft White

Reliably connect your home theater equipment to greater distances than with passive cables using this Ultra Slim Active High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology from Monoprice!

This High Speed HDMI Cable supports the following general features:

  • Active signal regeneration to ensure accurate reproduction over longer distances
  • 10.2Gbps data throughput
  • Connector heads measure only 0.6" x 0.3" (17 x 7 mm)
  • Tooled polycarbonate connector heads with Zinc alloy shielding
  • 36AWG copper conductors
  • Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) jacket for superior durability
  • Gold plated connectors

It supports the following HDMI features:

  • 1080p resolution at 60Hz
  • 4K resolution at 24Hz
  • 3D video
  • HDMI Ethernet Channel
  • Audio Return Channel
  • Deep Color up to 16-bits per channel
  • x.v.Color™
  • High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™

Note that Active HDMI cables are directional. Check each end for markings indicating whether it should be connected to the source or the display device. Connecting them backwards will not hurt anything, they just won't work until connected properly.

Note also that only one Active HDMI cable should be present in any single cable run, even if using a switch, splitter, or matrix. Connecting multiple active HDMI cables in series will cause them to fail to reliably transmit the video signal because each is trying to do the same thing.

Another great Monoprice product

Pros: Thin, lightweight, very flexible, great price, connectors are compact yet solid, available in several colors

Cons: None

I bought these to replace the HDMI cables connecting my Tivo Roamio and Sony Blu-Ray player to my Sony soundbar unit, and the soundbar to my Samsung TV. They work flawlessly, and there seems to be much less stress on the HDMI ports now that the weight and stiffness of the cables is greatly reduced.

I've seen other comments here about not being able to use these cables from soundbar to TV, but it's worked fine for me. I think any problems others are having may be due to running the cable in the wrong direction.

I got these in several colors so that it's easier to trace the cables from different components to the soundbar.

My runs are fairly short (3 feet from components to soundbar, 6 feet from soundbar to TV), so I don't really need Redmere's distance technology, but I wanted their light weight and flexibility.

Well worth the slight premium you pay over standard HDMI cables, especially when you see what others charge for their Redmere cables.

These work great

Pros: High quality
Great for short runs between components

Cons: None

Had to get this as a replacement for one that a bird chewed through, so I already knew that these work as advertised. It was great getting it in place, because I had to put one of my old, black, thick HDMI cables in there in the meantime, which I didn't like (of course, I was the only one who noticed the thick cable, but it still bugged me!).

Anyhow, now I'm back to my nice setup, and am content once again.

Pros: They really helped make my entertainment systems less of a mess.

Cons: Possible minor, very temporary confusion on the part of users who don't know that these cables are 1-way.

Love these thin Redmere cables

Nice and thin

Pros: The cable is as thin as USB cable making it easy to manage

Cons: It doesn't always work. When I connected my receiver to TV with it, TV gave me "incompatible signal" error. I had no problems with connecting PS4 to receiver. I'll have to check product's page what the restrictions are.

I'll probably replace most of my HDMI cables with it.

Hello Art,

Thank you for your review! Please note that Redmere cables are directional. Meaning, one side has to be plugged into the source device (Bluray player, cable box, PS4, etc.) and the other end needs to be plugged into your output device (TV, projector, monitor, etc.) The connector head molding should be labeled for this. When using the cable between the PS4 and the receiver, I recommend having the "Source" end connected to the PS4 and the "TV" end connected to the receiver. When connecting between the receiver and the TV, the "Source" end should be connected to the receiver and the "TV" end connected to the TV. Apologies for the trouble and hope this helps!
