1m 30AWG Internal Mini SAS 36pin (SFF-8087) Male to Mini SAS 36pin (SFF-8087) Male Cable - Black

Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) is a high-speed data storage interface designed for high-throughput and fast data access. Intended primarily for data storage centers, the SAS interface is backwards compatible with SATA. This allows the user to mix more expensive, lower-capacity SAS drives for applications that require faster data access and higher reliability, with lower-cost, higher-capacity SATA drives for applications with lower access speed requirements. Monoprice carries a full line of quality SAS cables with connectors for every possible application, both internal and external.

This 1 meter long cable uses 30 AWG wires and is intended for internal use. It has a 36-pin SFF-8087 male Mini-SAS plug (with locking latch) on each end.

Strong, long, and a good time!

Pros: Well-built cable with quality SFF-8087 connections on both ends wrapped in a braided sheath. What more could you ask for?

Cons: - 1 meter might be longer than you think. (Almost 40 inches! This is longer than most SAS/SATA cables,)
- Therefore this might be a bit long for some cases if you lack the space to manage the slack. This was installed in a Supermicro 4U chassis with plenty of space inside, so no issues were had here.
- Didn't help floss my teeth.

So I purchased two of these to use in my FreeNAS build connecting one IBM ServeRAID M1015 (highly recommended HBA flashed to a LSI P16 BIOS in either IT or IR mode) to a Supermicro SASX36 A.1 backplane. This fit the bill and then some! Thank you again, Monoprice. You saved the day. )

Pros: Always click in to connect easily
Protective scheathing
Good length for deep rack mount cases

Cons: None

I'm using 7 of these cables in 2 rigs and they work great. One of these rigs has been running for about 3 years now constantly and I've had no problems.

These work perfect for connecting 2 HD cages together and NOT having to pay the HP price plus these are longer and clip in better than the others. We have bought a few hundred of these and will continue using them. They also work great on SAS Expander cards

Pros: Works great, no problems connecting to my RAID card or backplanes

Cons: 1m being the shortest length.

I would think any SFF-8087 cable will be inside a case. Even in the largest cases out there I don't know how often you would need a full 1m length. Because of the excess length I had to do much more cable management, which always impacts airflow. I would have loved if cables half the size (0.5 meters) were available.
