Pros: Cable is affordable and does the job

Cons: VGA connector is huge and may not fit certain monitors

I installed this cable for a customer with a 21" Dell LCD monitor. The Dell has a small recessed area where the VGA and HDMI inputs face downwards. Towards the bottom of this recessed area it curves back out leaving very little space. I was barely able to get the cable connected and had to leave it plugged in at a slight angle. The picture seems to be ok, but this is definitely not an ideal situation. Most VGA cables nowadays have a slimmer, shorter connector so I would definitely check your monitor out for clearance issues before purchasing this cable.

    Works, but image is shaky

Pros: I'm able to connect my DisplayPort connector to my monitor's VGA port.

    Cons: The image is shaky.

I was hoping to use my monitor's VGA port in order to free up the HDMI port. Unfortunately the with the DisplayPort to VGA Cable the video is shaky and flickers. I tried different refresh rates, but I could not get a stable display at 1920 x 1080. So I'm back to using the HDMI port and my cable is collecting dust.

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 6019. If I may ask, do you have any additional adapters, switches, or splitters in the setup? Can we try changing the resolution to see if the issue persists? What about testing the cable with a different source or display if at all possible? Also, has this been an issue since you first received the cable?

Please let me know if the problems still occur. If they do, I can assist you in obtaining a replacement to see if it will work better or a return RMA. We do have a lifetime warranty on cables and obtaining a replacement is of no additional cost. If you want to continue with an RMA, please let me know if you wanted to return it or obtain a replacement. Thank you!

This has been an issue since I first received the cable.

I do not have any additional adapters, switches, or splitters in the setup.

I tried changing the resolution and refresh rate as advised by support, but it did not improve the quality.

I do not have this issue when I use the same DisplayPort to my HDMI port, OR when I use a different video adapter to the monitor's VGA port.

    Let me know. Thank you.

I guess I would prefer to replace the cable.

Monoprice service was great! When they noticed I was not happy they reached out and offered me a return or a replacement. I chose the replacement, and they sent it right away. Unfortunately the issue still exists, and it seems that this solution just does not work with my system.

Works great on my 660Ti to drive 4th monitor

Pros: Works perfect, lets me drive VGA monitor off of a DisplayPort on my video card.

Cons: It's white, I would prefer it were black.

The cable works great. Some complained that the DP connector was too fat to connect to their video card but it works fine on mine. I think that most people's experiences with this cable are going to depend greatly on what video card they have. If you have an ATI card and are hoping to drive more than 2 monitors, you're going to have a bad time as ATI cards need an "active display port" cable and I think this one is passiveno circuitry to convert the signal from digital to analog (I think).

So, because I have a GeForce 660Ti card, which doesn't care what I connect to it and drives everything with no problem, I have a great experience. I have triple 21.5" 1920x1280 monitors of 2 different brands. I have my card driving 1 monitor over HDMI, 1 monitor connected to the DVD-I port, 1 monitor to the DVD-D port with a HDMI adapter, and a 4th small VGA monitor connected to the DisplayPort with this cable. Perfect signal, no ghosting, no problems, great cable.

    Pros: Works great
    Low price

Works like a charm and can't beat the price. Bought it to use at work since the IT dept wouldn't supply one for me. They said a D-A video converter would cost $100 or more, but this under $20 cable proves them wrong... now they want to buy some to keep on hand :)
