50ft 22AWG CL2 Silver Plated Standard HDMI® to DVI Adapter Cable - Black

    *** !!! WARNING !!! ***

Note that this cable is NOT an ordinary HDMI® cable. This is specifically for connecting a device with an HDMI connector to another device equipped with a Single Link DVI-D connector, typically found on PCs, projectors, and older video equipment before the HDMI standard became widespread. These cables can NOT carry audio. They carry video signals only!

If you are looking for a High Speed HDMI Cable or a Standard HDMI Cable to connect equipment with HDMI connectors, please look at one of the following categories instead:

    *** !!! WARNING !!! ***

This HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable is capable of video performance equivalent to a Standard HDMI Cable.

Silver-plated conductors provide improved signal conductivity over normal copper wires. When signals are transmitted at frequencies in the MHz range, very little of the signal actually penetrates to the core of the conductor. Most of it simply rides along the outside of the wire in what is known as the "skin effect". Silver is a better conductor than copper, but is of course too expensive to use for an entire conductor. However, a thin coating of silver on the outside of a conductor takes advantage of the skin effect by providing higher conductivity where the signal will actually be carried.

In cases where the length of a cable may be approaching or just beyond the distance for a reliable HDMI signal transmission, often characterized by an intermittent breakup or interruption in audio or video portions of the signal, a silver-plated cable can provide the extra level of conductivity to ensure a reliable HDMI connection between the source and sink (display) devices.

The CL2 rating on this cable indicates that its outer jacket has been designed to burn more slowly, thereby making it safe for use inside or through the walls of residential classed buildings. The CL2 rating ensures that your cable installation complies with fire safety codes and insurance requirements.

TIP: It is a good idea to test cables and connections before installing them inside a wall. If there are any issues or problems, we can help you resolve them before you spend the time, effort, and expense of installing them inside the walls.

This cable is capable of the following HDMI video features:

    • 720p/1080i Resolution - The Standard HDMI Cable has sufficient bandwidth to transfer 720p/1080i video signals between 720p/1080i rated source and sink (display) devices.

    • Deep Color - The Deep Color feature provides a minimum of 8-bits per color element (24-bits total), providing for a total of over 16 million color variations. Other versions of Deep Color allow for up to 16-bits per element, for a total of 48-bits and over 281 trillion color variations, which really makes your video images come to life!

    • x.v.Color™ - x.v.Color is a promotion name given to the products that have the capability to realize a wide color space based on the xvYCC specifications and is a trademark of Sony Corporation. Currently, only AVCHD™ and Playstation™ 3 devices support x.v.Color.

I recently had the opportunity to test Monoprice HDMI cables with equipment
running at 1080p 60Hz with HDCP 148.5MHz The results were very positive.

Please note that success at 1080p depends on a lot of factors including quality
of TMDS transmitters, receivers, and anything you might have connected to the
cables like HDMI switches, repeaters, HDMI>DVD adapters, etc., therefore these
test results should be taken as a data point and not as a guarantee the cables
will be problem free @ 1080p with your specific equipment.

For example, during initial testing I had discovered through process of elimination
that one of the HDMI>DVI adapters I was using could not reliably pass 1080p. At
first I thought the cables were the issue, but after switching out the adapters, the
    cables worked great.

Also please note, even though some of these cables are listed as only 1080i certified,
they did nevertheless pass 1080p without issues for the equipment combination I used.
See this post for what was tested at the factory:
    http://www.avsforum.com/avsvb/show...4&&#post6953664

The process of listing a cable as passing visual inspection involved looking at black
screen for 30 seconds to detect sparkles, then watching video for 1 minute to detect
    additional artifacts.

Sharp LC45GX6U is a 1920x1080 LCD display which accepts 1080p and 1080p/hdcp when
devices are connected directly to the panel, bypassing the external video processor.

Hope you find this information useful.

Pros: Good cable and connector ends, works as described, solid cable jacket

Cons: It is a bit thick approx 1/4 inch O.D.

Fantastic cable if cable thickness is not an issue. Cable is thick and durable. No signal or quality issues.

We bought this cable to run from our HDMI switch to our projector in our home theater. With this cable, the switch, and another cable to connect to each of our various devices, the overall total cable run approaches 62 feet. Even with that distance, this cable is passing 1080i and 1080p in our home theater with no problems.

Our HDMI switch is a cheap MadCatz from Fry's. The projector is a Sharp XR-32X. We use a DirecTV satellite receiver, Sony PS/3, and Toshiba upconverting DVD player in this setup and all perform well over this cable.

Black levels seem fine. No noticeable noise (sparkles) in the picture. Passes very dark and very bright images well.
