Premium S/PDIF (Toslink) Digital Optical Audio Cable, 75ft
Experience superb sonic clarity and accurate musical reproduction with this Premium S/PDIF (Toslink) Digital Optical Audio Cable from Monoprice!
The Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format provides for a Digital Optical Audio signal, commonly referred to as Toslink. Toslink allows for the distribution of uncompressed 2-channel PCM audio or compressed multichannel audio, such as DTS® or Dolby® 5.1 or 7.1. Being an optical signal, Toslink is immune to problems that can plague electrical signals, such as crosstalk, magnetic interference, or radio frequency interference.
This premium cable features a full-sized Toslink connector on each end, with metal connector heads and a metal mesh jacket. The metal jacket helps protect the cable from nicks, cuts, and kinks, which could cause damage to the internal optical fiber.
- Full-sized male Digital Optical Audio (Toslink) connectors at each end
- Heavy duty premium, square metal connector heads
- Mesh metal jacket protects cable from nicks, cuts, and kinks
- 8.0mm outside diameter
- Gold plated ferrule resists corrosion and provides maximum protection for the connector tip
- Precision polished fiber tips for maximum signal transfer
Important! Because of the shape of the connector heads, this cable will not fit the Xbox 360 S "Slim" models, which are the smaller form-factor models released after June 14, 2010. For the Xbox 360 "Slim", please use one of our standard Toslink cables with molded connectors instead.

PROS: Cheap, reasonable quality
CONS: None so far.
Additional Info:I actually only bought the 25' cable, but I believe these are all the same quality.
PROS: As advertised. Arrived on time. Very good quality.
CONS: Preferred a 65" length but for the price this is not an issue.
PROS: great price
really good quality
PROS: At first I ran component cables with copper audio through the attic. This worked until the outside temperature got over 90 degrees in Texas. Picture was okay but the sound would go out as the day heated up and would start working again late in the afternoon as the temperatures cooled down. Bottom line, copper looses signal strength over long runs at high temperatures.
At first I bought copper audio cables thinking copper would be more reliable for a long run. Obviously heat effected the cable.
Then I bought this 75 foot toslink cable to replace the 75 foot copper audio cables. Ran the toslink through the attic and the sound has not failed at all. Great reception.
Outside temperatures this summer in Texas got over 108 degrees. No failure.
Previously, I had run high quality copper HDMI cables with boosters to 5 HDTV's through the attic. HDMI worked until the temperature got over 90 degrees outside. Then the sound and the picture quit working.
Bottom line for long runs: I would recommend component video cable with toslink cables where high temperatures might be an issue. Appears to be no loss in picture or sound quality.
Thanks Monoprice for outstanding service, quality cables, and great valve.
PROS: Really nice cable. Connectors snap securely in place. Wire mesh jacket makes it really easy to pull through walls.
CONS: Would have preferred a 60 foot version...
PROS: Heavy duty cable, absolute top quality
PROS: excellent product, on time shipping, great product prices
