Premium S/PDIF (Toslink) Digital Optical Audio Cable, 25ft

Experience superb sonic clarity and accurate musical reproduction with this Premium S/PDIF (Toslink) Digital Optical Audio Cable from Monoprice!

The Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format provides for a Digital Optical Audio signal, commonly referred to as Toslink. Toslink allows for the distribution of uncompressed 2-channel PCM audio or compressed multichannel audio, such as DTS® or Dolby® 5.1 or 7.1. Being an optical signal, Toslink is immune to problems that can plague electrical signals, such as crosstalk, magnetic interference, or radio frequency interference.

This premium cable features a full-sized Toslink connector on each end, with metal connector heads and a metal mesh jacket. The metal jacket helps protect the cable from nicks, cuts, and kinks, which could cause damage to the internal optical fiber.

    • Full-sized male Digital Optical Audio (Toslink) connectors at each end
    • Heavy duty premium, square metal connector heads
    • Mesh metal jacket protects cable from nicks, cuts, and kinks
    • 8.0mm outside diameter
    • Gold plated ferrule resists corrosion and provides maximum protection for the connector tip
    • Precision polished fiber tips for maximum signal transfer

Important! Because of the shape of the connector heads, this cable will not fit the Xbox 360 S "Slim" models, which are the smaller form-factor models released after June 14, 2010. For the Xbox 360 "Slim", please use one of our standard Toslink cables with molded connectors instead.

    Pros: Solid build
    Proper fit

    Cons: None

    1. Rip 443 CD collection to desktop PC using WAV format (237 artists, 5000 songs, 345 hours of music).
    2. Spend under $20 for 25 ft. optical cable to connect desktop PC to A/V receiver.
    3. Play hours of music.
(There are other options for getting CD quality sound to the A/V system but all cost more than $20.)

    This cable is terrific

    Pros: This product is dynamite!!!

Cons: Buyers should be advised that the armoring makes the cable thicker than a "normal" optical cable would be, and that it cannot make sharp turns. I had expected that, and ordered my cable an extra 5 feet long to allow for the longer bends.

I ordered this cable to connect between my Receiver and my TV - and to run it through a wall. I wanted the armored cable for durability. This cable is all I could ask for. It has very good quality, the end plugs came covered for damage protection, and the armoring is exactly what I wanted.

    Optical Cable

Pros: Machined metal ends, protective sheath, Quality throughout, great price!

    Cons: None.

Very impressed with the quality! I paid easily twice as much for a cheaper looking plastic ended cable locally. The machined metal ends and braided metal sheath give the Monoprice cable a premium look and feel. I bought the 25' length and cannot detect any loss or degradation of the signal at all. Definitely recommend this cable.

    Durable as all get-out

Pros: Heavy, durable, looks nice, metal mesh helps it from getting snagged, does its job.

Cons: Not worth deducting points, but it IS heavy, so be careful of pressure on your Toslink connectors.

It's a Toslink cable, what more needs to be said? You have a need, this cable will fill it. It's durable and rugged enough to easily run through walls if you needed to, and looks nice enough to be out in the open too. You could get a cheaper cable, but for $8 at 25', why even chance it? I'm glad I purchased it.
