    18inch SATA 6Gbps Cable w/Locking Latch - Blue

Each major revision of the Serial ATA interface specification has doubled the maximum data transfer rate. The latest SATA Revision 3.0 allows for data transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbps.

While the cables for all three revisions appear to be similar and will physically fit into the connectors on all SATA drives and controllers, the higher data transfer rate of SATA 6 Gbps requires higher quality materials and closer tolerances than the previous two revisions required.

Monoprice SATA 6 Gbps cables are certified to provide maximum speeds from your SATA system, up to 6 Gbps when used with equivalent devices and controllers.

Each end of this internal cable features a straight connector with an attached locking latch, to ensure that your connections do not come loose due to movement or vibration.

Note that SATA 6 Gbps cables are backwards compatible and can be used with SATA 3 Gbps and SATA 1.5 Gbps devices. However, the data transfer of the SATA subsystem will be limited to that of the slowest device. So, for example, if a SATA 6 Gbps cable is connected to a SATA 3 Gbps drive and a SATA 1.5 Gbps controller, the drive will be limited to a transfer rate of 1.5 Gbps.

Pros: Colored cable to differentiate connected drives
Locking latch to prevent loose connection
Good length for any mid-size tower

Cons: Cable is a little stiff for twisting in right position, but doubt this will affect functionality

Pros: I have built a lot of systems over the years and use a lot of sata cables and have experienced disappointments one after another, but I cannot say the same for these. I know what you are thinking guys, and you are wrong. I do not work for the company. I only am reporting in truth of what I experience. For me, these cables are excellent. First off, the cables are rock solid in clipping to the board and to the hdd. The end locks work great. Secondly, the data throughput is accurate. After running tests with these cables, no faults have been observed. Thirdly, the price is so right with these. Trust me, you will not find any better prices for these cables. If you do, let me know because all I have seen was higher, much higher and way too high prices for these cables. Fourthly, the colors are a great match of existing cables.

Cons: I am trying real hard to find some and if there are any cons, they escape me because these have no cons or faults.

You will not find a better cable at a better price. Short and sweet, down and dirty. This is the site I will return to purchase addition cables when the time comes.

    Needed for NAS

    Pros: Cheap
    Good Quality
    Strong Latch

    Cons: None Yet

I wanted all matching cables for my NAS, I bought 14 of these they have been going strong for about 2 months now! About 60% cheaper than local options for the same type of cable. I had some old SATA cables from a different build and the latches sucked compared to these!
