    12ft Premium 2 RCA Plug/2 RCA Plug M/M 22AWG Cable - Black

Despite the introduction of more advanced audio and video signal cables, such as HDMI and Toslink, most audio and a large number of video connections still use the common RCA connector.

This is a premium two-channel audio cable made of RG-59 75 ohm coaxial cable. The cable uses a 22AWG conductor and is shielded to prevent EMI or RFI interference from entering your audio system. The connectors are gold plated, for smooth connections and to prevent corrosion. Each connector head features embedded, color-coded rubber rings to ensure a firm grip when installing or removing the cable.

RCA Plugs Are Too Tight For Everyday Use

    • Keebs,

Pros: -Once you get these cables on your RCA jacks, they definitely won't fall out on their own.
-They seem to be well constructed.
    -Ideal for semi-permanent installations

Cons: -The RCA jacks fit so tight onto the female RCA jack that using them on an everyday basis will almost certainly result in breaking the jack of your equipment over time.
-Monoprice should label these as being for semi-permanent installations.

See the pros/cons above. Long story short: these are well made cables, but if you plug them in and out of equipment regularly, they will likely break your equipment due to how tight they fit.

    Hello Keebs,

My apologies for the fit issues experienced with PID 2865. The RCA plugs should not be fitting that tight on the jacks. If I may ask, is it possible to try the cables with other devices and ports to see if the fit is the same? Was this an issue with all four RCA plugs on the cable? Also, do you happen to have the order number for this purchase? Please let me know so we can best look into this issue. Thank you in advance!

Very Thick & Stiff Cable Be Sure That's What You Want

    Pros: Heavy Duty.

Cons: Cable size is way to big/thick for auto use, stiff, won't bend corners. Not sure where this cable could really ever be used?

Be careful ordering any cable from monoprice that is "premium" or has some "AWG" size rating (which is not explained anywhere on the site that I could find btw). This is the second time I ordered a "premium" cable from monoprice that was so stiff, its basically unusable, the previous time was an HDMI cable. If you can manage to bend it through the corners you need, it will still end up loosening up the female recepticle it is plugging into and ruin it. Monoprice needs to post better info on there site about these types of cables vs. thinner more flexible ones so buyers can make good decisions. I ended up ordering the cheaper more flexible version which worked just fine, paid shipping a second time.

    Hello,

Thank you for your feedback on PID 2865. Truly sorry to hear this cable did not work out for your application. Regarding the AWG, AWG stands for "American Wire Gauge." It is the thickness of the wire inside the cable. The lower number AWG denotes thicker wiring and thicker overall cable. Thicker cables are recommended for longer cable runs because they offer less resistance along the signal path. The premium RCA cables are also shielded to help prevent EMI or RFI interference while our regular RCA cables such as PID 2008 are not. Should you have any questions about our products, please feel free to contact our tech support team either via live chat or email at tech@monoprice.com . My apologies for the trouble and I hope this helps!

Pros: *Thick Cable's that are joined with a thin channel to separate the cables from each other.
*The ends have bladck heat shrink to prevent the cables from separating, but can easily be cut off if needed.
    *Professional grade material.

    Cons: None,

These cables are great quality and built with a heavy gauge wire and sheathing.I will be using Monoprice.com for all wiring needs:)

    Hello,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the experience you have had with PID 2865. If I may ask, what issues did you run into when trying to use this cable exactly? Also, what devices are you looking to connect with this cable? Are we able to test it with other devices to see if the issue persists?

Please let me know if the problems still occur. If they do, I can assist you in obtaining a replacement to see if it will work better or a return RMA. We offer a lifetime warranty on cables and obtaining a replacement is of no additional cost. If you want to continue with an RMA, please let me know if you wanted to return it or obtain a replacement. Thank you!

I connected a subwoofer from my sony receiver, it was working before with no issue with my 8 ft cable. with the new cheap cable the sound is very very very low if it even kicks on. I also tested the cable on several other devices and was give the same results with the Bad monprice cables. I then tried my older cable and everything works as planned. I would never recommend these monprice cable to anyone.

if you want to send out new cables that is fine
