USB 2.0 to DVI Display Adapter w/ Audio (1920x1080)

This USB 2.0 Graphic Adapter allows you to quickly and easily add an additional monitor to your desktop or laptop. The connected monitor can be configured to either clone your primary screen or extend the Windows® desktop, allowing visibility of more applications at the same time.

The driver uses very few computer resources and offers a vast array of screen resolutions and color depths. This ensures that there is little difference in performance between a directly connected screen and a screen connected through the USB 2.0 Graphic Adapter.

It supports up to six simultaneous displays, including widescreen displays, extending your both desktop and your horizons. It operates at a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 (4:3) or 1920x1080 (16:9). A 3.5mm Stereo TRS to RCA audio adapter is included, which attaches directly to the converter to provide support for 2.1-channel audio output.

    Features:

    • Can easily mirror the main display
    • Extend left, right, above, or below
    • Can be rotated left, right, or upside-down

    • USB 2.0 powered - low power consumption

Overall, this works very well and is nearly seamless. As expected, there is a bit of lag, but it's very useful for anything other than video. I would definitely recommend this with that one caveat.

PROS: Works very well, and virtually no setup (besides downloading drivers) on Mac. Good image quality, easy to use. Audio quality is fine.

CONS: A bit laggy not going to work for 1080p video.

    USB to DVI display adapter
I inherited a Dell XPS One (you know the one with no video display out). It is crazy that Dell wouldn't consider that people at these machines would want to extend or duplicate the desktop. So, after looking I decided to try this one. Yep, it just plugs into one of the four USB ports on the back of the machine. Sure enough, it works. Windows 7 recognized and configured it as an extended or duplicated display. No recognizable lag time. No funky start up issues. Back to work.

PROS: Simple to setup. Small (it is about the size of an Apple iPhone 4). Includes and accommodates different video display types (it is out of the gate with DVI, but includes both VGA, and HDMI adapters). Can accomodate sound (although I haven't needed or used that feature). Cheap. Monoprice shipped fast. Bus powered (no external power cord or brick for this).

Quick and Easy to set up
Great product. I have already recommended this product to others.

    PROS: Connected quick and easy.

CONS: I would reeally like to see one that can be switched between two PC's.

    Works great!...WOW!
What a great way to add an HDMI port to a laptop / desktop that doesn't have one!

Just download and install the latest drivers FIRST from the displaylink website, and then just plug the unit into any USB 2.0 port. BAM!....It works!....Right click in the task bar, and change the settings to your likings.

I found to really get things smooth, download (at your own risk) the BETA version of Adobe flash 10.1.3. This helps offload some of the memory req's from the video memory to the CPU processor which helps smooth out / speed up playback when streaming over the internet. I highly recommend this product, and will def. buy more...

all around a great product. I will be buying another one soon for work.

PROS: product performs great, easily outputs 1280x1024. I haven't tried anything higher as I don't have an external monitor to support it.

CONS: Sometimes when attaching addition usb devices, the computer "forgets" the video adapter is there for a moment. During this time, the display will go black, and all windows that were on that screen will be forced back to the primary as far as the computer is concerned, the monitor is unplugged, then plugged back in.

    Works perfect
Works right out of the box... If you have windows7 the drivers install as soon as you plug the device into the usb.. took about two minutes and my hdtv and two monitors was working..

PROS: No lag, light weight, easy to use right out the box

CONS: the device feels a little cheap. It look like it would be heavier than what it is and the screws on the adapters are plastic and feel cheap also the device gets a little warm... BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER!

    Work great
They work great! The Monoprice version of these USB video adapters are the only ones that seem to always work reliably, with no driver issues and no problems adding several adapters to a single computer.

    Works and Works Great!
I got these device not really sure if it were going to work well or not. To my surprise it not only works but works beyond expectation. I have used the hulu app on it and does not stutter along like I thought it would. I may possibly buy more of this just to add some more displays to my setup. I am currently using this with a Late 2008 Unibody Macbook Pro. I also suggest that you look for the beta displaylink drivers on displaylinks website. After installing those drivers and not the one on the CD the device displayed a full 1920 x 1080 image on my screen with rotation and OpenGL still working. Tested Expose and everything and all is well. If you look at the pictures the display that is turned 90 degrees is being controlled by this usb to dvi device.

Very slick unit, especially for the price
    5/5

PROS: This item works awesome. The driver is very stable and reliable, which can be an issue for some video cards (I use WinXP Pro). Very slick unit, especially for the price.
