HDMI® Extender/1x2 Splitter

You've got your awesome home theater setup in the family room, but sometimes you want to watch TV in the kitchen or out on the back porch when you barbecue. Don't waste money buying more equipment or cable TV feeds, just use this handy 1x2 Amplifier Splitter from Monoprice!

When you need to exceed the recommended maximum distance of 25 feet for High Speed 1080p HDMI® signals, your best option is to use an HDMI extender that sends the signal over Cat5e/Cat6 network cable. Until recently, most extenders required the use of two Cat5e/6 cables for each extension, one to handle the DDC signal and the other for the TMDS signal.

This splitter reliably sends the High Speed 1080p signal over just a single Cat5e/6 cable! This not only reduces costs, but reduces the hassle of running two cables. The splitter takes a single HDMI input and sends the signal over up to two Cat5e/6 cables to separate locations. Two receiver units are included to decode the signal at the other end and connect to the HDMI input of your display.

  • Easy to install, just plug it in and start using it right away!
  • Extends High Speed 1080p HDMI signals up to 50 meters (164 feet)
  • Splits the HDMI input into two outputs to HDMI over Cat5e/6 cable
  • Uses just a single piece of Cat5e/6 cable for each extension
  • Supports 165 MHz/1.65 Gbps per channel (4.95 Gbps all channel) bandwidth
  • Supports 8-bit per channel (24-bit all channel) deep color
  • Supports uncompressed audio, such as LPCM
  • Gold-plated HDMI connectors
  • Complies with CE, FCC, UL (Canadian and US), and RoHS standards

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends the use of minimum 24 AWG HDMI cables when connecting a device, such as this splitter, between the source and destination devices to ensure minimal signal loss and maximum High Speed signal reliability.

Great product, we use it to convert HDMI to Cat6, and to split the video to 2 different TV's.

Pros: It works!

Cons: It's expensive

This magical product allowed me to split my HD comcast cable box to two TVs. I had run cat 6 cable but not an HDMI cable...This product took care of the 'handshake' issues and I'm very pleased that it works.

Pros: Easy to setup
No settings to mess with
Plug and Play

Cons: Wish the HDMI and Ethernet plug where on the same side.

Great product. I used to to split an output for a security camera system setup. Couldnt be happier!

Pros: - Inexpensive
-Includes a splitter if that is your goal, to split and extend 2 HDMI signals
- Relatively small transmitter/splitter
-Comes with mounting brackets, I used it to screw them to the underside of a shelf.

Cons: No "LINK" lights on the Network connectors. There should definitely be a link light on every Network connector.

After reading horror story after horror story on amazon for HDMI extenders, I have to say I was REALLY worried about getting this product. I see so many people that cannot get these things to work. You can never be sure if it was the cables, the devices on the ends, etc. I have to say, mine worked flawlessly. Like no problems whatsoever with CAT6 24awg cable. I ordered my 75 foot cables off amazon. I can confirm that this does pass 1080p/60 with no issues. I have not tested the audio portion of it, or if it will pass 3d. My audio is coming analog from a receiver in the closet from which I am extending the HDMI signal. Overall, would recommend this product ONLY if you buy decent quality HDMI cables to go with it. Don't buy the cheapest cables on Amazon and expect it to work..maybe it will, but you're taking a chance.

Does not suport HDCP

Pros: It worked fine over CAT 5e cable.

Cons: My dish receiver said it does not support HDCP and so it blocked those channels.

Works good for non-copy protected source but don't use for satellite source as only some of the channels will work.

This item will support HDCP as long as all devices support HDMI. I hope this helps, thank you!

Does not help. It works fine with the HDMI cables but when I plug in this device it doesn't work. I tried 2 complete different set-up (TV,cable and receiver).

Is there some setting that need to be set because there is nothing in the instructions

by Monoprice Administrator

Thank you for your response, it may just be an incompatibility issue with that particular setup. We do have other types of splitter if you want so I can assist you with a return of you prefer. Please let me know, thank you!
