Splitter works great for about 2-3 years then it starts to get flaky and die. At year 3 this time, I'm on my second one and it works for 10-20 minutes before picture dies. Then you need to cycle power and unplug the input and plug back in.

Pros: Heavy duty, easy to use

Cons: Unit fried on me after using for 45 days. LEDs quit working and was very hot to the touch. Let it cool but it never functioned again.

Worked well when it worked, would try same unit again. Filed for RMA with Monoprice, which they make a very easy process

Great Product - I have 2

Pros: I have 2 of these units installed that have worked flawlessly for a couple of years now.

Cons: I have apparently damaged 1 by upgrading the HDMI input wire to Redmere with a CAT 5 HDMI output adapter.on the output (or at least that seems to be the problem). Also, it says it supports 3D, but only one of the attached TVs is 3D and DirecTV doesn't recognize it. Not important since I rarely watch 3D. Simple to direct connect.

2 DirecTV boxes - 7 TV's. Enough said. You can't beat the price and reliability.

Nice Little HDMI Splitter

Pros: Small and easy to fit in my theater equipment. Input jack is on one end, three outputs are on the back, and one on the opposite end make routing cables versatile. Lights on the front indicate connections and power on. Fairly inexpensive.

Cons: Input jack is on one end, three outputs are on the back, and one on the opposite end might make routing cables difficult if all HDMI cables enter from the same direction and are not flexible (my Monoprice HDMI cables running through walls are about a half inch thick and not very bendable).

I bought this unit to replace the Monoprice pro model I had that got smoked by a power spike. That unit worked great for 6 years. This one is $40 less, but works just as well. I run 4 HDMI cables to 4 TVs spread around my house. Cables are 25 to 35 feet long. I have no issues on any of the TVs (all 1080HD, two are LCD, two are projectors). I like the cool looking blue status lights.

Hi Benny,

Thank you for your review, glad to hear you are enjoying PID 7618! To protect from future power spikes, you may want to look into using a surge protector such as the following:

Hope this helps!

Pros: Small footprint, easy to install

Cons: No audio on second tv

First TV with a 75' active HDMI cable works all of the time with no issues. Second TV located 10' from the splitter only recognizes VGA signal until power cycled to splitter after TV is on. No audio on second TV.

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 7618. Can you clarify a bit for me what is meant by "only recognizes VGA signal", please? Is there an HDMI to VGA converter being used in this setup? If I may ask, what source device is in use here and what are the lengths and gauges (AWG) of all HDMI cables in the setup? Also, can we test the second TV with the other outputs on this splitter to see if this issue persists? Please let me know so we can look into this further. Thank you in advance!
