    3X1 Mini HDMI® Switch

When all you need is a simple HDMI® switch to connect a couple of HDMI sources to a single HDMI display device, you don't need to spend a lot of money or hassle with a big device or power adapters. Just get this nifty 3x1 Mini HDMI Switch and save some money and some hassles!

Note that this switch has standard HDMI Connectors. The "mini" in the title and description refer to the size of the switch, not the type of connectors it uses.

Note: For best results with High Speed 1080p signals, Monoprice recommends using minimum 24 AWG HDMI cables when connecting to a switch, such as this device.

    Nice HDMI Switch

    Pros: Small

It does the job as advertised. My TV only has 2 HDMI inputs so by utilizing this I was able to expand to 4 inputs.

Do not use with Directv HR44-700

Pros: Works fine with everything I have tried that supplies enough power on the HDMI line. X-Box, Playstation, DVD/Blue Ray players, Directv receivers and DVR's other than the HR44-700.

Just giving a warning for those that may be using this with certain devices. I had an issue where it was working just fine until I upgraded my Directv receiver. At that point it didn't want to work correctly. I found through trial and error that if I had other devices powered on and cycled the switch manually then it would work. I don't think that the HR44-700 has enough power on the HDMI line to drive the switch. I had to eventually replace this with the 2x1 switch with the optional power plug and everything works just fine.

Good for the price, but could be better.

I'm going to start off with the statement that this is a good product. I didn't go five stars because it could be better, but there's nothing functionally wrong with it.

It allows me to hit that tiny button to switch inputs from one to the next input and is simple to setup. It has auto select when it sees a new signal coming in, so, there's that if you want it.

What I would like the product to do that it doesn't is skip inputs with no signal. Currently, i have my desktop on input one and occasionally have my work laptop on input two. Nothing currently ever goes on three, but I'm not sure for the future if that statement would always be true. However, when I switch from input 2 back to 1, I would like it to skip 3.

It's very minor, but that would be enough to make this four ranking a five!

    Simple and cheap

    Pros: cheap

    Cons: No remote switching

Simple solution for TV's with only 2 hdmi ports. Make sure to follow the recommended cable gauge. I didn't notice in a picture degradations, but then again, I don't have the best TV. I have a WiiU, blurayplayer and Roku connected. The automatic switching works most of the time, but every once in a while it gets confused and I have to use the button to switch, but that's still better than have to switch out the cables. This will save my ports from constants insertions.

For whatever reason, it didn't work for me at all

    Pros: Low price

Cons: Was not able to send an image to the TV.

I was working to connect an old Sony Blu-Ray player and a cable box to my Vizio TV using this switch box, and it did not seem to work at all. Even with one device connected, no signal reached the TV, including when I tried to manually select the source. It didn't work with either the cable box nor the Blu-Ray player, while both worked using the same cables when connected directly to the TV. At the price it sold for, at least it wasn't a large expense, but perhaps a more expensive unit would have worked.
