It shouts at you

Pros: Works fine, sounds good

Cons: You should be aware that this device will shout at you every time you turn it on

Every time you power up this device, a lady yells "THE BLUETOOTH DEVICE IS READY TO PAIR", then one second later, "THE BLUETOOTH DEVICE IS CONNECTED SUCCESSFULLY". I'm not sure why they didn't go with a beep of some kind. This made the device basically unusable for me, and I had to RMA it (despite the waste of shipping both ways). It works fine, just be aware of what you're getting into.

Worked for a while

Pros: Good idea
Worked fine for a while

Cons: Developed interference noise in line or device that makes it un-useable.
Short range

This device started out just fine. It is a little cumbersome with lines in and out, but it did deliver music from my bluetooth phone to stereo speakers. Unfortunately, it developed some type of humm and crackle in the background that made it un-useable and I believe it is past the one year warranty.

It's okay

Pros: Very easy installation.

Cons: The audio clips if you're further than ~5 feet away. Not like the description says
The USB port doesn't charge my iphone 5s.
Distracting blinking blue light but nothing tape couldn't fix.

I wish it worked at least within ~10 feet range which is the size of my room. I can't use my laptop on my bed without the audio clipping obnoxiously.
Also, the device tells you when it's ready to pair and when something is paired but it's a foreign woman with an accent. It's actually quite funny and I consider it a bonus to the product.

Pros: Very easy to install and the price point is great.

Cons: I wish it came with a 1/8 to 1/8 cord instead of the rca to 1/8 cord

I've used this in my classroom on a daily basis for over a year and it has worked great even with crappy old computer speakers. It is easy to install and paired quickly with my iPad 3 and iPhone 5s. It worked so well I bought my dad one and he uses it on his really nice home stereo: no problems.

Decent but not completely compatible

Pros: Decent reception range (works through floor)
Simple to use
Works with iPhone6

Cons: Does not work with iPad2 as stated
Blinking blue light is bright and pattern based
Audio is okay quality

I purchased this a while ago and just tried it out. My iPhone 6 connected easily and worked fine. However, my iPad2 would not (it would not show up in the list of devices). This is unfortunate, as I wanted an all in one access point, not something that only partially worked.

As with a lot of Monoprice products, they like to use very bright LED's. While it may seem silly, it is a problem. With such a bright LED you cannot leave it in a highly visible area with out it always grabbing your attention (it's always blinking something). A little liquid paper on the LED will dim it a bit.

Hi Lawrence,

Thank you for your review on PID 7364. If I may ask, have any other Bluetooth devices successfully paired with the iPad 2? When attempting to pair the receiver to the iPad, are there any other devices in the area that are already paired with the receiver (such as the iPhone 6)? If so, can we try turning off Bluetooth on the other source (iPhone) and then put the iPad into search mode to see if the receiver is picked up? If that does not work, can we restart the iPad and search again? Please let me know your results from there so I can best assist you in resolving this issue. Thank you!

I tested it some more tonight, and the first thing I noticed is that the receiver had crashed. Neither device would detect it and the LED was not on or flashing.

I unplugged, and re-plugged in, and it was still dead.

I unplugged yet again, and plugged it in, and it came back to life.

This time the iPad2 was able to connect, however the device seems to have a problem were it becomes non-responsive.

I had it directly plugged into the 120Volt

Unfortunately, at this point, it does appear as though the receiver is defective. We cover this product with a one year warranty if you would like to receive a replacement. Also, obtaining the replacement would be of no additional cost to you. If you would like to proceed, please let me know and I will get that going right away. My apologies for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you for troubleshooting with me!
