Pretty Nice Cable for the $$$

Pros: Much cheaper than competitors for a quality cable.
No noise on this cable.
Quality solder joints.

Cons: Doesn't have the metal end covers like the other pro audio 1/4" cables. (not really a con in some cases, but trying to be objective)

Despite lacking of the metal end covers like the other 1/4" pro cables MP carries, these are still great cables provided you are looking for a cloth covered cable. I know a lot of folks like cloth because they tend to lay flatter easier while playing. Until recently, you have to go to the evil empire of guitar retailers to buy cables like this at easily 3 to 4 times the price. These are a great alternative and worth every penny.

Cable may be defective

I bought this cable to bring into a recording studio session, because of its flexible, cloth wrap and gold connectors. Plus, I've had really superior experience with all previous Monoprice cable connections compared to competition at any price. Sorry to say, this cable failed when it really needed to perform. Studio engineer confirmed a failure. Even cheap Hosa replacements were used in its place. Not happy about this.

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the experience you have had with PID 601435. If I may ask, what issues were you experiencing exactly with this cable? What were you trying to use this cable with? Did the same issues occur when tested with other devices? Please let me know so we can best assist you in resolving this matter. Thank you in advance!

The issue seems to be with the 1/4" connectors on each end. They did no seem to "fit right" on either end. One end plugged into my brand new Fender Telecaster Bass, the other end plugged in to the recording studio's DI box.

Every other cable we tried in the studio worked fine, except for the Mononprice cable.

I've not had time to try this in my own environment, yet.

Thank you for the info! I will pass this along to our product team to have this issue looked into further. Unfortunately, it appears as though you have received a defective cable. If you would like, I can help setup an RMA for a replacement. We cover our cables with a lifetime warranty and obtaining a replacement would be of no additional cost. If you would like to proceed with the RMA, please let me know and I can get that started right away. Thank you again for the feedback and truly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Pros: -Available in a variety of lengths
-No noticeable interference
-Very solid tips/ends
-Great price

Cons: Personally the black and gold is a bit of a negative I would prefer plain black.

For the price you can't beat the quality of these cables. I've bought multiple lengths of this style and outside of the gold and black being a bit odd (I'd personally prefer a plain black cable) I can't think of a single negative. You will want to note that as noted in the description this cable is indeed what you want for connection directly to instruments. I had someone grab another speaker cable ( and try to plug in a mic but it would give a low hum when switched off. This is clearly explained on the product page and is important to note.
