    Classic Guitar Stand

Don't let your guitar go unprotected. Keep it upright and safe from scratches and dings with this Classic Guitar Stand from Monoprice.

This simple three-piece design can be assembled in minutes, yet provides a stable base for holding any guitar or bass guitar. The aluminum tubing is covered in a soft rubber foam to protect the finish of your guitar, while a rubber strap across the neck support ensures that your guitar won't fall out of the stand.

The stand is height adjustable from about 25" ~ 29" at the neck support. The base has a 20.5" span, which gives it rock solid stability, even on carpet.

Note that the rubber tubing will interact with the chemicals in a nitrocellulose finish and can ruin the finish where it comes in contact with the rubber. Never allow a guitar with a nitrocellulose finish to come into contact with rubber tubing.

    • Adjustable Height: Ranges from 25" to 29"
    • Base Width: 20.5"

Solid Stand at a great Price

    Pros: Solid Construction, Great price

Some minor assembly required, and it took a little effort to extend the legs properly, but once the legs were fully extended, this stand works as well as my other cheap (triple the price) stand. As many others have stated, the assembly that holds the guitar body spins freely, so be careful to place the instrument correctly.

Good In Some Ways But Have a Critical Flaw

    Pros: Price
    Reasonably heavy gauge tubing

Cons: The "yoke" that holds up the body of the guitar always wants to flip upside down.
The plastic cap that the retaining strap connects to is way too fragile - one broke the first time I touched it (before I even put a guitar in the stand the very first time).

I bought 3 of these. At first glance these seem well built (the tubing is of heavier gauge than some of my other less expensive stands) but they do suffer from a few drawbacks. The most serious is that the "yoke" that holds up the guitar body naturally wants to flip upside down. That can happy with most of these stands, but typically I have found with my other stands that it only happens occasionally but I have found with these it almost always happens. And, if you don't notice it, the guitar slides out and falls to the floor... so it's a fairly serious design flaw. You have to be really careful.

Also, on one or two of mine, the plastic caps that hole the retraining strap have split, so the retaining strap no longer works properly.

Pros: This stand reminds me of my father I expected this stand to deliver its function, just like I expected him to come home... one day, maybe...

Cons: Has brought dishonor to me. Has brought dishonor to my family. Has brought dishonor to my cow.

All I wanted to do was buy a stand for my roommate it was her birthday. A simple, black stand. Nothing fancy, it just had to do one job. One singular function. Hold a guitar. Google defines a stand as something that "has or maintains an upright position," so silly me, that's what I expecting this stand to do. That, my friend, was apparently too much to ask of you. This stand is backwards. I'm talking the exorcist, head doing a 180, type of thing. The neck cradle is in the opposite direction of the guitar butt cradle. How would you feel if your head and buttocks were facing different directions? I think it would be hard for you to maintain an upright position. WHICH WAS ALL I WANTED THIS STAND TO DO. All my life I had to fight! But now, I digress. What kind of world do we live in where guitar stands do not help guitars stand. Next are you going to tell me that screwdrivers do not drive screws into things. What then, are you going to tell me that there is no Santa Claus. Thank you Mr. Monoprice, thank you for ruining my friend's birthday and the last shred of faith I had in humanity. Good day to you.

Great price and it holds the guitar

    Pros: Price
    Holds a guitar

Bought this for my acoustic guitar and it works great. The only thing I'd improve on it would be the bottom where the guitar sits. It spins very freely and can turn upside down easily. If it had just a little tension then I think that would be resolved. But for the price, I can live with it.
